Dude shooting about 32% form the field with some terrible shot selection. Brooks has always had some questionable shot selection, especially when somebody in the regular rotation get injured. I guess as vet he feels he needs to contribute more to overcompensate for that loss but it’s not mutually beneficial to the rocket success. You seen last night against the Kings when he forced the issues and tried to be a hero, it resulted in bad offense but as soon as he started letting the game comes to him by being set up for a spot up shot by our playmakers he hit two huge threes. Maybe Dillon is the one who should goes to the bench when Jabari returns but then again I worry about him if he thinks his jobs becomes a sixth man role off the each like Amen or Cam. Dillon isn’t a microwave scorer in that capacity. He ain’t the one you want to be more agressive on his offense. Hopefully this just a bad spell but this is what happened last season also. He started out effective and then midway through the season his offensive production and efficiency started dipping substantially. Last season it was after he came back from injury. Ever since he came back from missing a couple of games in December from his injury, it’s been the same story again. We looked substantially better last night when Tari was on the floor

I was thinking, when Jabari comes back. Brooks should come off the bench.

yeah for sure…. But I’ll take it another level. We have to trade Bari to get a shooter. He’s the best option for a good deal. I’m fine with this amen Tari combo at forward. It’s not 1996 where u need a post pf.

    Isn’t Bari a shooter?

dude is 21, Bari could be that guy. He fits the timeline so we have time to develop him.

Yeah I was against it initially but after some of these bad performances(that 2-15 shooting against Memphis almost cost us the game but our young stars bailed him out) and his defense has been less effective recently maybe Jabari can bring more to the table but Brooks to the bench hurts his trade value significantly. Jabari off the bench is still a positive asset. Dillon demotion to the bench jsut confirms in everybody eyes that the rockets shouldn’t have gave him that deal even though I disagree with that sentiment

who cares about the deal. It was a culture sign. The **** you we don’t care vibes is the best part about Brooks and worth 20 mil a year for guys like Cam, Tari, Bari, Amen he’s a great mentor

but the future is now and effectively I think Bari brings what no one else can at 4. Shooting and weak side help for Sengun

It's just regression. Bro was shooting 40%+ for most of the year and no one praised him lol.

I agaisnt reading Jabari but if we do, consolidate the read with Dillon brooks and trade for a better forward. We still have Tari for backup. Jabari and Dillon should fetch a better starting forward to pair with Amen

Brooks wont come off the bench. He should but he won't.

Stone will likely have to trade him in the off-season to force Ime's hand.

Brooks has been playing great on the other side of the ball.

we don’t need brooks to be a scorer. We need his as an anchor.

probably not. we will have to wait until his contract expires. I like Brooks and what he has done for us but it will be interesting when Ime will have start to face criticism for benching one of Tari/Amen/Jabari every game for a guy who is shooting 32% from the floor.

Kinda. I love his effort, but it feels like he's getting cooked a lot. Dudes make tough shots or whatever, but I feel like I've seen him get blown by and commit dumb fouls more than usual. Could just be bias because of last night, but it's been rough.

If Phoenix decides not to trade Durant or Booker this season, we could trade Brooks and 2025 Suns first round pick for Cam Johnson

Phoenix is still competing for a play-in spot, definitely not blowing up their team this year which I predict their 1st round pick will fall between 12-15 draft slot...Cam Johnson will serve more value to us than a player we'll draft at #12-15. We're into phase 3 which is now building a contender - we need shooters and versatile defenders. Cam Johnson will be an upgrade from Dillon Brooks.

No, I get it... But I still would consider another 1 of our picks RN.

But we are of the same mind re: Cam J.

Also BRK wants 2 FRPs & it looks like Memphis or Sac may give it to them

I think Brooks is cold af. It could be playing through something. The shooting slump doesn't bother me much, but it is clear his role right now on offense is to be a three point shooter. He's not involved in many of the actions. I think it is pretty clear the Rockets need a deadeye shooter (volume and efficiency) from one of the forward positions and Brooks isn't that. There are about 10 of these guys in the game. Most are truly atrocious on defense or provide nothing but shooting and defense. Cam Johnson and Trey Murphy are probably the best that aren't stars.

I'm more worried about the Rockets defense than Brooks's shooting despite thinking at some point thinking the Rockets need a shooting upgrade over Brooks. Jabari and Cam have shooting potential from the wing. I'm leaning more towards Cam being a better shooter long term.
