That's one I might consider ..... but damn, that 27 pick swap could be pure gold. Even if they get two early picks between now and then, it's gonna take a while for those players to develop.
Oh hell yes! We really only have to give up Brooks and a possible lotto for Cam F@#king Johnson? The offense looks to have enough playmaking unless you think Jalen Green is going to crater. Johnson brings the 3 point shooting to capitalize on FVV, Amen, Green, and Sengun's playmaking while being slightly less of a ball stopper like Jabari and Brooks.
I'd do this. We've had our share of luck with picks already and they could flip Dillon for another FRP. He keeps showing that the refs don't like him. I find it a little curious tbh.
It would take an awful lot for me to give up the leadership Brooks has brought to this team. He's literally our team's identity. If he has to go out in a move for a star, sure. But Cam Johnson? I think that's a downgrade honestly.
I would riot. Give up all of that for one shot at a title? We are the second seed in the west and nobody in our core is above 23. Patience is a virtue. p.s. That team would get brutalized by the Thunder. Especially with only half a season to gel.
I am. I would be afraid to give up too much though. If he could be available for cheap you have to consider it though. He's the only guy out there who is a legit 1A option when healthy. I wonder how he would respond to Udoka and staff. I wonder how he would respond to our culture. Would it be enough to get him disciplined with his diet and workout regimen? Would he show up for flights on time? Would he stop impregnating p*rn stars? Actually, I don't really care if he does that so long as he stays on the court.
The Rockets aren't playing defense right now so Johnson being a Jalen Green level defender isn't a big issue. He was better in Phoenix, but way too many guards/wings have a hard time finding their defensive intensity once they lose it. That said, Cam Johnson may be the best wing catch and shoot shooter in the game (minus maybe some stars who don't get as many chances). He relocates so well to get into passing lanes when his man has to help the helper. Amen Thompson when in the game with FVV, Green, and Sengun is constantly forcing the 5th defender to help the helper any time one of FVV, Green, or Sengun get an advantage.
Would Durant help or worsen our D - we know he improves offense Would Butler help or worsen our D? If we looking for a DB replacement We can keep FVV but that’s where I would like to upgrade if possible … Im okay with moving Brooks to bench - starting Amen and Bari together
Trade #1: HOU - BRK - TOR suggested a variation of this previously BRK: Brown (TOR) + 2027 BRK FRP rights (mid of HOU, PHX, BRK) + 2026 TOR FRP swap rights (IND, TOR, BRK) More cap space for 2026 (~$96M by my count). Could they use their picks to trade for stars?? Possibly. PG = draft pick or trade - Cam Thomas - SF = draft pick or trade - PF = draft pick or trade - Claxton Bench: Sharpe - Clowney - Whitehead - Keon Johnson - PG (???) Let's say they get lucky in draft & acquire Ace Bailey & Dink Pate. Sign Lonzo Ball (2 years, $25M/ per) + Julius Randle (3 years, $40M / per w/ TO on Year 3). They could basically try a Rox rapid rebuild - especially in the East. TOR: Brooks (HOU) 6-God comes home & tries to help right the ship. HOU: Cam Johnson (BRK) More consistent 3 point shooter with no loss on defense. Trade #2: HOU - LAC - TOR could be one trade, but tad more complicated to do so LAC: Tate (HOU) + Temple (TOR) Depth players for Clippers playoff run. Plus Clips get under tax. TOR: Landale (HOU) + PJ Tucker (LAC) + 2026 SRP via HOU Raps stay below tax and pickup depth front court players as well as SRP. HOU: Bones Hyland (LAC) + Olynyk (TOR) More depth for Rox. Olynyk played some of his best basketball in Houston. FVV - Hyland - Holiday JG - Cam W - Shepp Amen - Tari Cam Johnson - Bari (IR) - Uncle Jeff Sengawd - Olynyk / Adams Half-court: FVV - JG (Shepp) - Cam Johnson - Sengawd - Olynyk (Adams) Uptempo / Run & Gun: JG (Hyland) - Cam W - Amen - Tari - Bari (Unc Jeff for now)
Only move this season should be for a back up point guard. Need playoff data in order to know which way to turn the team at the fork in the road.
Houston Rockets Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: +9.2 ppg, +6.9 rpg, and +2.6 apg. I may have been a little flippant here. Brooks is a lot better at defense than Cam Johnson. For some posters, on ball skills are the only ones that matter on offense and they assume an on ball guy can just play off ball. Off ball skills are important for off ball players. Cam Johnson takes much more difficult shots in Brooklyn than he would in Houston and is still a pretty decent volume shooter as well as an elite efficiency on shooting. Just taking Brooks's shots and assuming same efficiency as Brooklyn, that's easily a 3 point bump in offense just from threes. Outside maybe elite shotblockers and Amen, I'm not sure there is a defender that much better than Cam Johnson to cover just the three point difference between Brooks and Cam.
Wow. You don't think much of Whitmore. You're really willing to trade him for a half a season rental of Oubre Jr and Yabusele? Yabusele is an expiring contract and Oubre Jr has a player option that he will likely exercise. This is just wild to me.
Would love to pick him up to shore up the backcourt. Reed doesn't seem remotely ready to contribute and Holiday is so one-dimensional on offense and undersized on defense--we need one more dude who can make plays with the ball in his hands, IMO. However, Chicago is a very conservative organization that prefers to never truly blow things up and be terrible, so I doubt they'll trade him--more likely they'll try to re-tool around him while getting some fairly high draft picks (but not falling too far below .500). White's teammate Ayo Dosunmu might be a more-realistic target--he is about to be extension eligible and they may not want to pay him since they have so many backcourt options.
Everyone on our team sucked on defense before Ime arrived. Defense can be taught and implemented in ways that scoring can’t.
@R=$ just throws trade proposals out there with no emotions attached. I’m not sure the account is not a Russian bot.
I wish... prolly want two FRPs & a good player to start negotiation The contract he is on & his production makes him super valuable to Bulls.
