Biden and Trump Defy Their History of Animosity to Seal Gaza Cease-Fire
But the extraordinary collaboration between outgoing and incoming presidents did not stop both sides from claiming credit.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2025/01/15/us/politics/trump-biden-gaza-ceasefire.html

    excerpt:

At the same time, Mr. Trump’s impending return to power and his blustery threat, that “all hell will break out” if the hostages were not released by the time he was sworn in, clearly changed the calculations of the warring parties. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, the beneficiary of so much support from Mr. Trump during his first term, could not take for granted that the new president would back him if he prolonged the war during his second term.

    ***
“This was Biden’s deal,” former Representative Tom Malinowski, Democrat of New Jersey, wrote on social media, “but as much as I hate to say it, he couldn’t have done it without Trump — not so much Trump’s performative threats to Hamas, but his willingness to tell Bibi bluntly that the war had to end by Jan. 20.”
Blustery threats for the win . . . more at the link.

Trump Names Mel Gibson, Jon Voight, Sylvester Stallone “Special Ambassadors” to Hollywood, Whatever That Means
On Truth Social, the president-elect announced that he has handpicked this trio of senior citizens (and avowed Trump supporters) to lead the efforts to bring “lost business” to “foreign countries” back to Hollywood.

Interesting. I wonder what kind of working relationship each one might have with the Hollywood power structure.

I got my own blacklist and Voight, Stallone, and Gibson are at the top of it. I'm just kidding. It's okay to support Trump now regardless of what he does I guess. He can sell you a piece of gum from the ground if he wants and it might go something like this: "I got to tell you folks...this ground GUM...once you get chewing and loosen it up with some Sativa...it's really great! So great! You can't get gum anywhere from anyplace in the world, or even the universe, like this gum except from the ground in front of a TRUMP Hotel. It's groovy...do they still say that...groovy like a gravy train. You just can't find the GUM except here at TRUMP Hotel. So, stay at TRUMP Hotel in Vegas when you come out. And, you'll get the treats, people of Earth! There's excitement as soon as you step in front of the HOTEL with treats right on the pavement folks...just like WILLY...free WILLY...Wonka's place but much BETTER! Ground GUM...from the ground and it's grand and it's ORGANIC...like my hotel! We'll see you when you get HERE! I won't...but them...behind me...WILL!"

I do not participate in #cancel culture so I won't be cancelling them...except Jon Voight cause I don't like him. I think he's a ****. But, I'll still watch him...like in "The Murder Mystery Game" airing on Paramount+ with Showtime.

They're supporting Trump cuz their business model is in jeopardy as they face numerous antitrust lawsuits threatening to break up their firms....its so corrupt whats happening its disgusting

I can care less about hollywood bootlicking Trump. What the real issue is how much the tech billionaires are bribing Trump so he can drop litigation against their businesses. Its freaking disgusting how corrupt big tech is

I couldn’t agree more, but how do we get there? When push comes to shove, any hard working person will stand their ground for what is their perception of right and wrong.

I don’t think that’s fixable without some type of rebellion due to suppression of the masses by those billionaires. More so, in a world with internet and impatient, what can you do for me now, society we are in. I see this with my employees all of the time and I go out of my way to take care of them. When you do that though, you always have some that try and take advantage.
