Even this guy is more optimistic.

That should say something to dudes who are still like "nah, let's sell Green now".

I voted no because Jalen has a real shot to be better than Booker and I'm willing to take that risk. Jalen's median outcome is maybe/probably worse than Booker but he's still got real chances to be better, a lot better even. So I wouldn't do it.

But all that aside my heart doesn't want to break up this team at all. The camaraderie is off the charts with this group, they really all like each other and it's very rare to see teams that are this tight. Even if there was a trade that objectively improved the team on a spreadsheet I would be hesitant to do it. I just wanna see where this group can take us.

Fred is our most important leader and ball handler currently. Removing him right now would be foolish.

The playoffs will answer a lot of defining questions for the front office. This group has proven they can win at a high level in the regular season. Now it’s time to stick the sword into the forge and temper the steel.

We’ll see what this team need after that.

yes I've and most critics here always maintained that everyone needs to be more or less consistently efficient with their shot selection especially with the volume they take and consistently having a positive impact to team's overall ability to outscore opponents night in night out thru out the season

Let's be clear. You don't break up this team just because they lose in the first round in their first playoff experience. Imagine if the Cavs did that.

The team has great chemistry atm. Why mess with it? Let's see how the season plays out and decide what changes are needed this summer.

Devin Booker is a proven all star. Jalen Green hasn't done **** in his career. I would make this trade in a heartbeat.

There is nothing on the offensive side of the ball that FVV does better than Booker. FVV is a better defender. If you said that is the reason we should prefer FVV over Booker, it would make more sense. Our offense has improved with FVV off the ball. In that role, Booker is far and away the better offensive player.

Fair point but I also hope we don't overreact to this. Everyone has to learn playoff basketball, it's almost an entirely different sport, and I know our guys are going to struggle. It's important to be patient as they learn how to play playoff basketball and not freak out if/when we underperform or disappoint.

A month ago, maybe so...but, not now, just as this kid's blossoming...

To be clear, I still want Booker.

FVV + PHX Picks for Booker

That's definitely an upgrade but I wonder how much it would ruin "the vibes". Young teams like this are fueled by chemistry. Booker demands higher usage than FVV and might screw with the vibes.

Me neither. Looks like the hating has turned course and CFans is finally coming around to what we've been anticipating of JG.

I'd prefer the same trade with 1 phx pick and 1 rocket pick for Durant. Booker has 4 years over 50m and is ideally suited to play SG, which we already have covered. Durant would be the closer we need and would move Dillon or Jabari to the bench which would give us great insurance for Tari and a hell of a bench unit and would be gone in 2 years.

People roasting @cml750 pretending like we all haven’t been tricked by Jalen several times now.

The positive is that his trends over longer stretches have turned in to something to behold.

This years FT split is similar to career averages of guys like Kyle Korver and Kevin Durant. If you notice something about Jalen, he is always talking about focus. That seems to be his hot point for consistency.

yeah but how will we replace FVV's over 10 assists and very low turnovers

and will booker be able to give consistently similar effort on defense as FVV

The problem is some posters use word choice that makes it sound like these peaks and valleys are of a 26 year old player folly developed rather than a developing 22 year old guard.

Some people talk about Jalen as of he's a inconsistent veteran rather than a inconsistent developing player.
