You guys are getting it wrong. They want Booker and Green to play together. If anything, FVV would be gone. I think they want all 3 guards to play together, though.

Would you trade Jalen for Booker?

    Last month, yes.

    This month, no.

I will also say this. There is some real camaraderie on the Rockets roster, especially among the younger dudes. Any trade might hurt this camaraderie. The only exception is if the trade includes a veteran who will get more PT on another contender ... like Landale or Tate or Green the Elder.

The Rockets do not want Booker straight up. They want Booker and more FRPs.

Green the Elder is a Rockets player-coach . . . don't think folks fully appreciate his value to the team

You know context matters. I am very happy with Jalen at the moment. This thread is about trading him for Booker. My original post in this thread said I do not like Booker's age or salary and I also did not trust Jalen to keep this up so I was on the fence. A butthurt Jalen only fan took offense to my original post and I made the one you quoted in response. The post you quoted has proven to be true so far in Jalen's career but we all hope that is in the past now.

the responses in this thread would’ve been completely different not even a month ago

if Jalen keeps it up the rest of the season, then it would be foolish to trade him and his contract will look like an absolute steal

if Jalen keeps it up for the rest of the season, he and Amen would be our 2 most untouchable trade pieces

    Not really ....

I wouldn't have traded the 32% 3 point shooting Jalen for Booker. Just didn't see an upgrade.

There's a reason a team with Booker, Beal & Durant are floating around .500

Well to be honest Green is setting himself up to be amongst the best at his position. He’s committed to defense, he’s a workout warrior, the coaches absolutely love his work ethics, he’s coachable, he doesn’t pout, and best yet he has built up his conditioning to carry his offense when the defense wore out his previous self. Talking about offense, he has a game at the rim, he has a mid range game, and he has a 3 point game, plus he has the quickness to take anyone off the dribble. This is the type of player fans dream about, unselfish, gifted athlete, that is coachable, and has The drive to work to get better.

Have you guys seen him catapult in WS and efficiency, dude went from being a top 100 NBA player to top 50 within a 2 week span. Now is only the time to sell on Green if there are hidden personal issues.

This. If it was a straight up trade with salary filler, then I would be intrigued.

I kinda feel bad for Jalen Green because most of his inefficiencies came from bad habits he adopted under Stephen Silas.
Now, we have a better coach in Udoka who implemented a culture with no b.s. or get benched culture in the locker room where Jalen Green is starting to flourish...remember the beginning of last season when Udoka benched him for poor play. It's starting to click for him, including Cam now.

I'm surprised i'm taking the opposite stance and seeing you take Jalens side. It's because of this recent hot streak you can sell high and it's because of Book's uncharacteristically lower level of play that you can get him. He's in prime. People are scared of 28 year olds now? Book has been consistently all-star level. At 28, with the career he's already had, he's high probability HOF bound. The way he plays, he could play at his level well past his mid 30s.

Jalen flashes all-star level and unplayable level on and off. It swings to extremes and players that are so up and down like that are historically not HOF level or even championship level. Teams reliant on players like that are rarely consistent championship threats. Jalen also doesn't seem the kind of player to thrive once his physical gifts fade away.

Book made his first all star game at 23 and stayed that level. Jalen is 23 in a few weeks and isn't making his first appearance. Will he at 24? Will he then stay that level and be a consistent all-star like Book? I'm doubtful.

I also think Book has some recruitment perks as someone you can thrive next to, while i'm not sure anyone is rushing down to play with Jalen.

Even if you want to take Jalen's upside as a scorer and finisher, is it really any better than what Book already consistently gives you as a scorer and finisher? Then ask yourself if you think Jalen will ever be the facilitator that Book has proven to be? Not even close.

All that said, i can't stand how Brook thinks he's so hard. He's got this very punchable way about him, but for the team. I'd root for him as a Rocket.

Book's got playoff and Finals experience, and avg 28/4/4 in the NBA Finals at 24-the same age Green will be next season. You don't think Book's hungry to get back? I think he's the right kind of fit for this young and hungry team without experience and Ime is the right coach for Book to actually become hard and not act hard. I even see similarities to that Phoenix team minus Ayton/Sengun differences.

Devin Booker will soon be on the decline, but his salary is increasing. Jalen Green is improving, and his salary will remain the same. In 3 years Jalen will be a better player than Booker and earning 25 million dollars less. I wouldn't trade for Booker at all, I think his contract is terrible, he has not been very durable for his career and may be past his prime.

Durant is a better player, better mentor, has better contract, better defense, and better playoff/championship experience. I probably still wouldn't trade Green for him though, but I might because I think we could win a championship with Durant.

Booker has never played a full season, at best he is a 3/4 season player. We don't want Fat Boi Luka direct his anger at us because of Booker.

Context matters. Green is like 30. Players are what they are at that age. If he was like 22, ya players are developing at that stage and will be inconsistent until they aren't. But we are talking about Jalen Green a 9 year vet. How much can he improve really?

I don't even think we need to include amen, jg, or sengun for the trade.
But for jalen no thank you!

So you are saying if Green stayed on a tanking team his first 5 years in the NBA he'd be an all-star by his third year?

Because I don't think you realize that is basically what you are saying.

Also you are speeding misinformation. Booker got his first all-star appearance in his fifth season in his age 23-24 season. Green is in his fourth season at age 22-23.

Do you know what the Suns record was in Booker's fourth season where he was averaging an amazing 26 ppg?

    19 wins.

    19 ****ing wins.

Now ask yourself this. Jalen Green the season before Ime was on a tanking team in his sophomore age 20-21 season. He averaged that year 22 ppg on 54% ts. The exact same numbers as sophomore age 20-21 year old Booker. Booker stayed on a tanking team for the next few seasons. He was asked to get buckets and not give two iotas on defense. Ask yourself if Green stayed on a tanking team in his third abd fourth years, you couldn't see him easily averaging 25 ppg on doggy doodoo teams where coaches don't give two craps about trying on defense?

Are you seriously impressed with Booker in his fourth season averaging 26 ppg on a 19 win team? You sincerely believe Green can't put up 26 ppg on the Wizards now?

Booker got his first all-star appearance in his fifth season on a below .500 team. Jalen Green has a strong chance of making the all-star team in his fifth season if he can hover around 25 ppg on a elite Western conference team easily.
