I do not like Booker's age or salary. I also do not trust Jalen and expect him to regress back to the mean. I am on the fence for this one.
Dudes 22 the "mean" is his first 4 yrs in the league. Its kinda dumb to assume Jalen will never improve for the rest of his career. Even lazy guys like Melo still improved due to experience if nothing else.
Jalen's mean is a bad shooting chucker who is a net negative so far in his career. His streaks are amazing but he has always regressed back to the mean. We all hope he is finally turning it around for good but history is not on his side as of now.
What the hell are you even talking about? If he was a net negative why did he get a 30M contract? Why was he in the top 25 under 25? Gets the 2nd most minutes in the top 2 seed in the West? Dude even gets props from past NBA players like Jeff Teague and Gilbert Arenas. The only ones who think he is a net negative are randoms like you.
At this point, not this season. If Jalen can maintain his efficient scoring, he's the better option going forward. The recent performances have bought him the rest of the season to show it's real.
Man. Jalen is so streaky. He's playing so well right now I'm inclined to say no, but after he goes 5-20 tonight I might feel different. The one thing about Jalen that gives me hope is how much he has improved defensively. That took a lot of work from him. The fact that he did it gives me hope that he can become more consistently efficient on offense too. If he does that, he's too valuable to trade. Plus his chemistry with Amen is getting really good. I'm not sure you want to risk messing that up.
I just don't like booker, I don't think he improves the team to a contender, he's a good offensive player that's it .. to give up green and picks for someone who isn't gonna do anything but score or yet proven history he has done nothing without chris Paul .he just a front runner with a big mouth, but doesn't mean I won't support him..I'll be a big fan of his if he is in Houston but honestly I think rockets should stand pat, move get some cheaper and keep using the suns pick to refresh roster
Jalen did a great feat last season, he buckled down and played defense when his tendencies are to just stick to offense. He played with such fervor that his offensive game tanked, except for that stretch when Alpi got hurt towards the last month of the year. Defense takes out you legs, thus players must improve their conditioning. I think Green has shown he is committed to defense, but he calibrated his conditioning to still be able to have that offensive shooting touch. And let’s not forget it’s called a jump shot because you have to jump to get it over your equally tall defenders.
The Suns are not going to want just Jalen straight up for Booker. They are going to want Jalen another player and picks. So no the cost is too high.
It would be very dumb of our front office to break up this team before seeing how this season plays out.
