I'd like to pull a Louis DeJoy and cover my ears and eyes the next 4 years because the average American will lose even more ground to the billionaire class. Once money equaled speech we were screwed, that has to be priority number one to reverse in the future.

Actually the must watch is between Kristen Gillibrand and Hegseth. He kept pointing out to non-existent quotas and she was not letting him get away with it.

This is my problem with the whole MAGA movement. Principles can be discussed but what can be done to the false narratives created and amplified by social media over fringe incidents without any proofs ?

He stopped using the word quotas after that exchange(at least until now :) )

Just a reminder that current Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, during his time in office, disappeared for days and no one knew where he was. He walked away from his post. He also took our military down the woke/DEI path, insulting the contributions of so many veterans of combat by having them sit through DEI training classes right after coming back from the battlefield. Under Austin's watch, our military recruiting efforts tanked, and we projected weakness to the world (Afghanistan). Our adversaries pounced, launching wars when they thought we were weak.

But Lloyd Austin was not fired for this incompetence. Nope, can't fire the DEI hire without political blowback. It's so sad how much our military suffered under his poor leadership. Hegseth is a MASSIVE improvement. He'll bring the warrior ethos back to our military and send the cross dressing, pink haired women who can't do 10 pushups home.

    GOOD DAY

So.... the basis here is that Hegseth is making a case that US military should actually be questing their orders, and allowed to rebel in a way that could harm their fellow soldiers??

I thought the whole thing was about duty, honor, and chain of command. It sounds like Hegseth wants to remake the military into a bunch of argumentative hippies.

    Sounds like Antifa.

Lloyd James Austin III was sworn in as the 28th Secretary of Defense on January 22, 2021. Mr. Austin is the principal assistant to the President in all matters relating to the Department of Defense and serves on the National Security Council.

Mr. Austin was born in Mobile, Alabama, and raised in Thomasville, Georgia. He graduated from the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission in the Infantry. He holds a Master of Arts degree in counselor education from Auburn University, and a Master of Business Management from Webster University. He is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced courses, the Army Command and General Staff College, and the Army War College.

His 41-year career in the Army included command at the corps, division, battalion, and brigade levels. Mr. Austin was awarded the Silver Star for his leadership of the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division during the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Seven years later, he would assume the duties of Commanding General of United States Forces – Iraq, overseeing all combat operations in the country.

After a tour as the Army’s Vice Chief of Staff, Mr. Austin concluded his uniformed service as the Commander of U.S. Central Command, responsible for all military operations in the Middle East and Afghanistan. In this assignment, he led U.S. and coalition efforts to battle ISIS in Iraq and Syria. He retired from the Army in April, 2016.

Peter Brian Hegseth (/ˈhɛɡsɛθ/; born June 6, 1980) is an American television presenter, author, and former Army National Guard officer. President-elect Donald Trump has announced his intention to nominate Hegseth to serve as United States secretary of defense in his second cabinet.

A political commentator for Fox News since 2014 and weekend co-host of Fox & Friends from 2017 to 2024, he was previously the executive director of Vets for Freedom and Concerned Veterans for America.

Hegseth has been active in conservative and Republican politics since his undergraduate days at Princeton University. As a national guardsman, he served at Guantánamo Bay and in Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2016, he emerged as a supporter of Donald Trump's presidential candidacy, and he served as an occasional advisor to Trump throughout the latter's first term as president. Following Hegseth's encouragement, Trump pardoned three soldiers accused or convicted of war crimes in 2019. Hegseth was considered to lead the United States Department of Veterans Affairs in the first Trump administration, but David Shulkin was tapped instead. Hegseth has written books including American Crusade (2020) and The War on Warriors (2024).

On November 12, 2024, Trump said Hegseth would be his nominee for United States secretary of defense.

Hahahaha claiming Lloyd Austin as a DEI hire when he was a 4 star general and led European command is hilarious. Pete has never audited or managed a large group of people is totally qualified to be a secretary cuz hes a white guy.

Its soo hilarious how the shameless morons @AroundTheWorld @Scarface281 @Commodore crying about DEI for the past week suddenly think the guy who has never led or managed a group of individuals is qualified to run the pentagon

MAGATs are nothing but shameless cultists. Calling out hypocrites is something everyone should do

Look at the awful results -- kind of obvious he was a DEI hire.... It's hard to imagine a Sec Def doing a worse job than Austin. Really calls into question how many times he got a role or award -- was it preferential treatment for DEI? That's how dangerous DEI is. Look how far it took another completely inept person -- Kamala.

Hahahaha he was such a DEI hire that he got over 80 confirmation votes in the senate including from Ted Cruz. I just can't stop laughing at you calling a 4 star general for decades a DEI hire while worshipping Pete as a qualified canidate who's never ran an organization in his life.

You have to admire applaud the MAGA cult @AroundTheWorld . They know how to lie and spit in your face while smiling the entire time. What a truly garbage racist human being yall are

Always remember a white male is born to do any job in this world regardless of qualifications. White males can never be DEI hires
