Like I said in a post in another thread, we shouldn't expect Green to suddenly play well almost every night, at least not yet. He'll have ups and downs because he's young and still figuring things out. But I do expect the downs will start becoming less frequent, and in another year or two they'll be pretty rare. I'll take a Jalen Green who does this 7 games out of 10; that's All-Star level.

I'm personally not so moved by the random big nights, but this is something I've not been able to say about Jalen (quarter season two way performance while winning against good teams). So glad we're here with Jalen. It was looking BLEAK for a minute.
I really want to make a post with graphs and pie charts, partly because it's the most intuitive (to me) way to demonstrate my point, and partly to make @Verbal Christ eyes roll so hard that they fall out of his head. But I don't quite think we're there yet. I do, think we have a new Jalen, though
I’m just not sure why so many people are surprised that a 22-year-old player continues to get better? We are acting like he’s 26 or 27 and even then players continued to improve. if he marginally improves his efficiency over the length of his 3.5 year contract. It still probably bodes well for us. I don’t go Off of the stats as much as some people do I just watch every game. He has gotten significantly better from four years ago to today. personally I think he is one of the better perimeter defenders in league as well, especially with smaller guards. he is one of the fastest players I have ever seen with the ball and he is beginning to finish so much better than he did in his career.

It is so sad knowing there are people who don't want to post here today because they gave up on this kid prematurely. It's so easy to just admit you're wrong and enjoy the wins as they roll in. Oh well.
I was talking to my brother about our team earlier in the season. I told him that I really liked our chances of improving and becoming a lower level playoff team. Never in my wildest did I envision this squad as a top 1-3 team in the loaded West. I did mention how much I liked Alpi but I felt like this team would be consistent winners if Jalen really took that leap towards at least being consistent on a nightly basis. I wasn't, and am still not, expecting him to go for 30+ per game but I do like that this team is finding ways to win collectively. All-in-all I do feel like this team is unbeatable if we find ways to play through Jalen and get everyone else (especially Alpi) involved offensively. There have been nights were he's popped off for a huge triple double yet we still lose. I really hope he keeps it up, because we really knew he had it in him!
I think the sentiment of almost giving up on Jalen was caused by the fact that there seemed to be no visible progress in the past 3 seasons. That with the earlier surge in this season only to crash back down after about 5 monster games. It's the pattern of up and down without a general upward trajectory that made people lose faith. Young players who become great usually breakout before their 4th season. It's interesting that Mobley also took a big leap this season. It's better late than never. If what we are seeing is the real Jalen, then as I have said elsewhere, we don't need a big trade. This group of young core is good enough to go to war.

Let's be honest, almost all the G League athletes were under-developed and needed 2-3 years with a good coach to develop fundamentals.

Jalen has grown up a lot. Super honest and perfect answer for why he was struggling and what has changed (thumbnail and video misleading, please ignore and just watch lol): Great praise for Sengun. Seems so focused on the goal and what he's supposed to do. Wants to stay level-headed with everything. DIDN'T SHUT THE DOOR ON THE DUNK CONTEST I really want him to have another shot at that. I wonder if Thompson twins would be interested but I don't think it's Amen's vibe.
Yeah, he sounds a lot more mature than he has in the past. Winning is addictive. He's chasing an addiction to winning,
56.2% TS% after half a season is not a streak. That mark is generally considered good. 58% is very good. 60% and above is elite. Everyone has hot streaks in half a season. He's been a good offensive and defensive player for half a season overall. Let that sink in. That's a milestone. Jalen has delivered in the first half. He's a pass, I give him a B+ for the first half. I'm expecting him to finish with at least an A- for the season. We are in such a good strategic spot for our future if that happens. On the cusp of homegrown greatness.
