Hope we can grab a couple WRs in the offseason. Whether draft or FA. Tank won't be back next season and probably won't be the No.2 we expected. Wish him the best through his surgery and recovery. One of my favorite players on this roster and to come out of UH. Hope @Bobbythegreat isn't taking this too hard
I'd love to be able to sign tee Higgins in free agency as well as Diggs. Trey Smith would be a great guard to snag as well.
Diggs Estimate is 1 Yr $13.5M range; Tee Higgins is 4 years $100M ($25M/yr) But it would be nice if we could afford it.
Teams like the Patriots, Commanders and Raiders will throw a ton of money at him. He'll like get $25M+ and that could be well out our reach but I would love to have him as well. I think we only have about $12M in cap space right now. Though that can obviously change.
Yeah, it was a pipe dream. We don't have money for any big free agents. The sad part is we have so much money invested in Howard, and can't even dump him because of all the dead cap.
Forget signing Higgins or any high profile WRs (cant afford it). Look at the draft...these WRs coming out nowadays are popping right away.
I'm thinking they bring Diggs back. I'm hoping they sign Bo Melton in FA on the cheap and draft Tre Harris at 1-25.
I hope they do, while he didn't have a huge number of explosives, he was dam good and a real vet who helped the young guys.......not quite worth the 10 million BUT I would like him back........you can NEVER have to much depth as we now see, plus Tank is not going to be back anytime soon
Why couldnt we just have gotten Brian Thomas..... haha. Although that would mean no Lassiter and I think hes actually more valuable right now.
I have no clue this off season like I had the last two because we are out of both excess Draft capital and Cap space. I lean toward more short term prove it deals in FA and a hope and a prayer in the draft.
Hoping and praying isn't a good strategy. If you want to be a top tier team you have to operate like the top teams Eagles/Chiefs do or you will never beat them. Question is will Cal front out the money in signing bonuses to operate like the true contenders do? I know you disagree with the contenders philosophy but that philosophy has proven to be successful. I'm sure Cal agrees with you on this because there's less money he has to spend up front. The only thing that could change his mind might be the fact that if the team wins a SB then he will get his new stadium no questions asked and forever be known as the legendary owner who finally brought a Lombardi to the city of Houston.
