I feel the only way this offense has a chance the rest of the way is if Johnson becomes a legit threat out there.
The talent is there. He just needs to put it together The real issue is CJ. If he's throwing the ball at WRs feet of over the their heads it won't matter if they had prime Jerry Rice and Randy Moss.
Diontae Johnson definitely deserves more snaps than Metchie who struggles to get open, runs poor routes, and routinely drops passes. I've seen Dionate create more separation in his handful of games with us then Metchie all season.
It would've been best if he came to the Texans earlier. I can understand why he isn't as involved considering the lack of time together with CJ. That said, I hope he shows out the next game.
Seems to me all those intermediate throws dropped by Metchie yesterday would’ve been better served thrown to Diontae. Hope they figure that out and fast
Agreed, THIS is the game we need Johnson to be at his best, he is relatively unknown in this offense, and he's had a few weeks of practice and games. I am not giving up on Metchie, but at this point of the season, those drops, and bad routes can cost you the game. Johnson can be the X factor in KC, we cannot rely on Nico every single game to be open
This guy was open all afternoon. Ran some really good routes and gets separation. I hope they see it in film and find a way to get him the ball a little more.
Yup. My 12 year old son showed me several clips of how often he was open. He can be a real weapon if they find that connection.
