Yes bc this defense actually has games where they DESTROY good QBs. Granted, it's usually at home, but those Wade Philips Texans got eviscerated by good QBs.
I like your enthusiasm, but the Astros and Rockets both have 5 bigger games than anything the Texans or Oilers have ever done. It’s hard to compare because the NFL has so few games and the Texans have never won a division game.
This defense has made several very good QBs look foolish. When they are locked in it’s the best defense in the NFL. Harbaugh said they had not faced such a good pass rush all year.
Before I catch up on reading all this, I just want to say, I looked at my wife at halftime and said this was the most Texans game but opposite. let me explain: how often have I been watching Texans settle for a FG, then defense gets a turnover for short field, settle for a FG again, but you’ve scored on every drive, defense continues to get stops. Then right at the 2:00 minute mark, Pat Mahomes decides to take it seriously, scores 1 TD and suddenly the game you were starting to feel good about you are now losing.. then, you screw up clock management and give them the ball AGAIN before the end of half and they score on you again and they get the ball after half… man, it was nice to finally be on the other side of that.
For next week we need to play clean football. We had 3 turnovers yesterday. We can’t do that against KC or Baltimore. CJ needs to run when there’s an opportunity. This will open up the offense. O-line needs to protect CJ and make holes for Mixon. D-line has to get pressure on the QB. Piece of cake! oh yea, can’t have 90 yards in penalties and receivers cannot drop easy passes
Compare Stingley yesterday with Patrick Surtain today and it's obvious who the best CB in the league is. Surtain just whiffed on a tackle leading to another TD for the Bills.
Watching the Bills vs Broncos game, the Bills are up 3 TDs with less than 6 min left and still aggressively airing it out. Bobby would’ve entered turtle mode at least a quarter and half ago in that position.
What you don't realize is the fact football has fewer games makes this game big. It's not just winning the game despite the odds/predictions, but it was a blowout too. This game is definitely "up there".
They have an O-line that doesnt risk getting their QB killed every 3rd play when facing basic stunts or base pressure.
If they win the division round this game might be memorable, otherwise the game will be like those Cincinnati playoff wins.
Or last year’s? (Which is basically echoing your point since the 14 year old Cincy wins come to mind before that one…)
Unpopular opinion, but I would trade a guaranteed double digit loss in AFC championship if it meant we got to embarrass the Chiefs at home in the divisional.. close to home for me.
