Ace Bailey is an 18 year old (Aug 13th) 6'10" Guard out of Rutgers. In 33 mpg he is averaging:

    19.1 points
    7.6 rebounds
    0.7 assists
    2.0 turnovers
    1.0 block
    1.1 steals
    46.8 fg%
    30.0 3p%
    58.5 ft%

Some of these stats don't pop off the page but when I watch this kid play I see a superstar in the making. Won't leave all the descriptions of his game here but he is one of the better looking prospects I have seen, from a scoring standpoint, in a while. I think he is going to be the star some team can build around and in my view, the Rockets should make the necessary assets available to pick him up. I think Bailey, Amen and Sengun could be a hell of a big 3.

Here is a recent game vs Indiana

What exactly is Rox’ draft situation. PHX ‘only’, yes? PHX with any restrictions?

    Thanks.

(I would have asked BtG but he doesn’t like to engage with those of us less smart than he.)

Rockets have the unprotected swap rights to Suns 2025 pick. Rockets first round pick is owed to OKC (CP3/Westbrook trade).

Pardon my ignorance, but how does this work? We owe OKC "a pick" or "our pick"? How do we swap a pick with the Suns if we don't have our pick?

We swap leftovers. If the Clippers finish better than the Rockets, The Thunder finish best in the league, and The Suns with the Lottery, then the Rockets will be trading the 30th pick for the 1st pick. Historic.

    * OKC has option of Houston or Clippers pick (likely Clippers pick)

    * Rockets acquired Phoenix pick swap rights from Brooklyn

It is undoubtedly true that you need to be talented in the NBA to win. But a fella needs to be coachable too.

What is also true is that talented knuckleheads will likely never change. The NBA isn’t a one on one sport like boxing, so hero ball is more like zero ball. If guys cannot translate the coaches game plan into the court, it makes for sad results.

Nevertheless, generational talent is so tantalizing to the plethora of upper brass. Too many GM’s are like those women who think they will be the ones that will ultimately change the bad boys with their special touch of love and affection.

With all that said, If Ace Bailey drops to 10, I bet the Rockets ignore all the flashing red lights and still draft him… lol

I'm surprised more mock drafts don't have him falling at least a bit since he came in an inch or two shorter than expected and the guy doesn't seem like he wants to play defense.

He's fallen from 2/3 to wherever he is now...

Knuckleheads gonna knucklehead, his treatment of the pre-draft process is something. If I had any say, at this point I'd deem him a walking human red flag.

He's said it straight up: I want to go to a place where I can be a superstar
