I think there is some legitimacy to this even if it was said in jest. The NBA is a corrupt league and I wouldn't be surprised at all if they had corporate partners participating in that corruption. Sports books and shoe companies would e prime candidates. Who is Sengun signed with? He hardly ever gets a call. Amen doesn't get calls either, but that might be just because he's a sophomore not named Wemby.
Funny thing about Sengun is I think he's top 10 (maybe top 5?) in the NBA in fouls drawn but only gets 5 free throws per game. He gets TONS of calls off ball which is good for putting teams into the bonus but all the guys near him in the "fouls drawn" rankings are getting near 10 fta per game. I'm a little bit more in the camp that drawing fouls is a player skill rather than solely a referee corruption thing, but regardless of who you wanna put it on, Jalen Green with Ja Morants whistle would be unstoppable. Maybe he does need to sign with Nike.
It’s when the refs call the foul - like they can call non shooting fouls and then once team gets into bonus start swallowing whistles Jalen gets a lot of nonshooting fouls to go his way, but then once we in bonus… he drives to rim and it’s nothing - other team guy can go do exact same layup and it’s a And-1
I dig this dude on IG. His slowed down videos show you the complexity and difficulty of the art of basketball.
watching all this guys videos in slowmo - man JG gets fouled a lot but he’s also so fast it doesn’t appear to slow him down much on his drives lol
I love it but I hope this is not the part of the schedule where Jalen makes a few stepbacks and he starts believing he's elite at it, only for his volume to tank his %. This time around I hope he uses this to get to the line more because defenders are guarding him too closely. This is key because it's also linked to his assists.
