Given there was only one way in and one way out, plus they let water from a record rainfall the year before back into the ocean rather than keep it in reservoirs, yes I can say without question mismanagement was the largest reason the fire grew to this magnitude.

They didn't divert water to industry and agriculture - which is what uses up the vast majority of water in california. The reason they don't have enough water in LA? They do - it wasn't a water issue - it was a system overload issue as street hydrants were never meant to fight of a city wide fire pumping up water to higher elevation.

 

The amount of pure disinformation spreading on here like the wildfires themselves is disturbing. You are correct. I just wish people would use this same thinking for things like FEMA. There is an overall budget, but the funds are put into separate "buckets" from which they can be used for certain purposes and only those purposes.
