We don't. Just let the young guys come of age. And they're fun young guys. We don't need to trade for Fox, Butler, Booker, etc. Green is on one and just got extended. Reed went ballistic and reminded us all why he got drafted that high (and was #1 on a lot of boards). Jabari is still filling out. Amen is just lol. Sengun is figuring out the balance between offense and defense. Tari still needs to get healthy. We are 2nd in the West and 1st in the West currently starts: SGA (traded young talent, home grown), Dort (undrafted there), Cason Wallace (drafted there), Jay Dub (drafted there), Chet Holmgren (drafted there).

    Stay put. Enjoy the development.

Classic moment incoming where the Rockets go on a 2 game losing streak and the OP makes a thread stating the complete opposite.. Never fails lol

As one of the board's biggest optimists I'd post a thread like this even after a 5 game losing streak:D I ain't no front runner.

I’d be fine if that was the case, but we need to start reducing minutes for FVV and Brooks and increasing minutes for Tari, Cam, and Reed. Amen should also start at SF once Bari is back and Brooks can come off the bench.

    FVV(30)/Reed(18)
    Green(30)/Cam(18)
    Amen(30)/Brooks(18)
    Bari(30)/Tari(18)
    Sengun(34)/Adams(14)

Keep this group together for a few years and eventually Reed would supplant FVV and Cam would get more minutes.

This might result in less wins than playing Brooks and FVV all those minutes, but we need to think long term and continue to develop Reed and Cam.

I mostly agree. Standing pat would be just fine.

I would be willing to take on a star vet if the trade was very favorable. For example, IF Jimmy were willing to join without an extension, I'd consider him. The competing offer is essentially for a negative asset (Beal) and a distant pick. They can beat that without giving up a lot of future assets. Sitting at second in the conference, it's worth trying to make that move to compete this year.

I'd argue they don't need to do something now, but unless there's a player on the roster who will turn into a superstar in the next couple of years, they do eventually need to do something to get that superstar.

We could trade some young talent for our own SGA? I don't know who that is but that's above my pay grade. I am just happy we turned this around. This team is a joy.

Was SGA a superstar at 22?

That's why I said it is above my pay grade to identify that player. I know who the current superstars are.

What am I missing? SGA came to OKC in a trade for PG13. They got SGA , Gallonari and a bunch of picks and swaps. No homegrown talent was involved from okc's perspective.

They used a current star ( who wasn't homegrown) . If you have a star, you can get a lot in return for them. It's getting that first star that is the tough thing.

There's nothing that could happen between now and playoffs that would make me change my mind. Have a hard time believing this team will lose 5 games in a row or something. We're going to lose to more disciplined offenses but we're still young. Just let the kids develop. Build around them later when some get left behind or want too much money.

I love Tate, Holiday and Jeff Green but they should have been traded for an upgrade or their roster spot at least made open for a beast.

We knew coming in that FVV and Dillon Brooks were never going to stay the full rebuild.......

The devil is in the details!

They don't need to, but they really should. They still can't compete with the Cavs and OKC in a playoff series. I still don't trust them against the Warriors. Something is missing.

Rafael's job description is virtually seeking trades to upgrade the roster. Nonstop.

But he rather treat the Rockets as if they were the Michael Jordan Bulls.
