You have a roster of 16 so everyone isn't going to be happy go lucky. I've seen SOF's b**** & complain more than Cam. They're the crazy ones
End of game, he untucks his jersey, gives a five to a teammate, then goes to sit down, when game had been decided. That's disgruntled?
Cam has found a rhythm after struggling to find his shot and game at the beginning of the season. He doesn't have to be everyone's pal to be a good teammate, but he obviously has a few personal things to work on here. As a 20-year-old, he may not like facing the truth, but Cam's better in a limited 20 to 25-minute role. If the coaches try to stretch him to longer minutes, his decision-making, shot, and even athleticism fade. His defense isn't good enough. He can't bring it night after night. On the personal side, if you can't handle other people's success (or the team winning) but you not being the star, that's just plain envy. The anger and moping are a symptom of potentially more significant character problems.
Did he throw a towel, water bottle or soup, drive off during halftime? When Alp was frustrated he kicked a chair once. Jabari arguing at the Rockets sideline. Amen literally tossed an opposing team player. I give all these acts a pass. But a guy walking back to the bench is bad attitude?
I don't hold him to the same standards as a 2nd Overall pick.....people know why because he was the friggin 20th pick! Pretty self-explanatory! Keep feeling unfairly judged, those other people, 2 pair of shoes.
Agree….he isn’t happy, but this is actually good for the team. It’s a doggie eat doggie world in the NBA and that keeps all his co-workers on edge that he wants their minutes. This in turn keeps the guys in front of him playing hard to keep him from stealing their minutes. It’s a positive, not a negative!
Player-only fans rather see the Rockets have less depth, then see other Rocket players playing well and threaten the minutes of their idol. Team won again and this is what people want to focus on. He scores 17 pts in 17 minutes efficiently. People don't have to praise him, but bash him when he had a good game? Weird.
The NBA twitter propaganda machine is trying to manipulate the rockets into trading Cam Whitmore. It’s mostly lakers fans in the tweet’s mentions, the sad part is some of y’all are falling for it.
This isn’t an epiphany. Widely reported that his attitude/behavior is why we were able to snag him so low. Some people are moody. Some people are immature. Good organizations help their employees. We’ll see how it plays out.
He has had some bad body language and said some…. interesting things in interviews, but he’s also 20, and all of us are different people. Look at Reed’s attitude and demeanor, at the same age. Dude is the epitome of team first, always say the right thing, do the right thing guy. Cam still has some growing to do. We are all different and handle things differently, which is what makes the world go round. I do hope the Rockets try to help him grow as a person, on and off the court. At such a young age, he has all these outside influences on him, so hopefully spending so much time during the season with this group of guys, his teammates, coaches, etc. can help him grow as a human being. Let Uncle Jeff take him under his wing. Dude has probably seen it all, at this point. He’s like 74? 50? Younger than me? Oh ok, cool. Don’t just roll your eyes and look to trade Cam. Not yet, at least. I fear if they give up on him and just throw him into a random trade, he could go somewhere else and start averaging 20+.
The 'report' on this thread's opening post. Is literally some guy recording of Cam on his TV walking back to the bench.
Yea the writings on the wall Would not be surprised if this turns into something like Terrence Williams or worse, Royce White.. Cam has issues, its mental, his demeanor in general is questionable... You are playing for one of the best coaches in the NBA, a great organization, an amazing young team and you are still not happy. Dude thats not how life works. He's going to need help very quickly or its going to hit him so hard, 3-4 years and he'll be playing in Russia
Lots of assumptions about a person's life I assume you don't know. This is some DD level s**t Mathloon. I generally like your comments, but stay in your lane.
Apparently he and Jalen had a pushing match on bench. The team knows and is fed up with his pouting/body language. Check the videos circulating the web. The way he left the court…..either he had to take a shyt or the bad attitude that made him slip in draft is showing its face.
I'm a big fan of Cam Whitmore, predicted Rockets would draft Whitmore a year before he was drafted; but if he is going to be detriment to the team...... looks like we found a volunteer to be traded. My wish for an Amen (PG) - JG4 (SG) - Whitmore (SF) dynasty could have been amazing
Right after his media gripe session Cam made his point by ….. going 1 for 9 from 3 in 34 minutes for 11 points and played poor defense in a blowout win vs the best team in the NBA. Then against the Lakers he scores 8 points. I don’t think this clip shows him pouting but I will say that since his media pout he has been given a chance and hasn’t really made the case he needs to make to match what he says he needs. If he thinks scoring 17 vs the Wizards proves anything he’s an idiot. The next 5 games are HUGE and he’s going to get meaningful minutes. We will see if Cam has a point or if he’s not as good as he thinks he is. Either way he won’t be able to say he didn’t have a chance to prove himself.
