She definitely wanted it the moment she ditched being a half-term Senator for the job. Like you said, she was in over her head, and didn't distinguish herself in any VP roles other than symbolic tiebreaker. I really think Biden jobbed Kamala by making her a no-win immigration czar. I suspect her awkwardness was half personality and half the fact that her own political clout and charisma wasn't strong enough to resist offending interest groups and parties she owed favors. That whole "I have a glock" moment was so weird and unnatural to the point where even if some consultant handed her a gun a month ago, they would've hashed out a legit story. I think she walled up, as usual, because she didn't know what to say that wouldn't make her "lose points." All this would've been hashed out in a legit primary process, which isn't her fault and more the fault of the guy who picked her to fullfill a comittment with southern black voters (and #MeToo for some reason...)

But it's clear she had a firmer grasp on the issues than the candidate that said he had concepts of a healthcare plan he promised would be delivered 2 weeks into his first term, lied about his rally numbers, claimed Haitian immigrants were eating people's pets, doesn't understand how tariffs work, or how windmills work, or the constitution works.
He absolutely won. That isn't really an indicator of which candidate had a better practical understanding of the issues and specifics.
But it is. Nobody takes Kamala seriously. Trump was indicted on multiple felonies and he still won the election. That shows how terrible of a candidate Harris was. She didn't have a handle on anything. If the dems run Newsom next term we'll have the exact same result. You could run a tree against him and it would win. People are sick of the far left.
Far left candidates like Kamala are done on the national stage for decades. Smart democrats and their media cabal are all pivoting to the middle. If they don't, Republicans will rule for at least 8 years. Woke has been put to sleep.

Remaining a Democracy and keeping someone out of the White House who is openly promising a corrupt billionaire catering autocracy was seen as good for the country by those who voted for Kamala. I don’t see why that part is always left out of the conversation as a way to paint democratic voters as stupid sheep. There’s the lack of decency from MAGA people that they demand for themselves after voting for Trump to understand why they voted the way they did. There’s no way any democratic voter should ever feel like they were somehow in the wrong or duped into voting for Kamala no matter how hard someone like you tries to create that self doubt. If you don’t believe in democracy that’s fine.. vote for Trump. But if you do it’s the easiest decision you’ll ever make to see a flawed but perfectly decent candidate in Kamala running vs a convicted criminal who is openly running on throwing out the constitution and becoming a “dictator on day 1” all the while his policies all center around nothing but billionaire giveaways and bad economic policies for the middle class that’ll make prices higher. It’s the easiest decision I’ve ever made in my life and while you might not agree with it because you prefer a corrupt billionaire driven autocracy that’s fine… but don’t sit here and treat the rest of us as uninformed dupes. Honest question...why are the people who dislike Kamala labeled as MAGA? As far as I can see, most people just disliked Harris so much they voted Trump.
