If you want to go back and read the threads on the wall, there are plenty of discussions about it working in strategic locations. It is extreme and an extremely horrible idea to put it across the length of our southern border.

Maybe when Mexico pays for it, we can discuss it again.

    Dear President-elect Donald Trump,

I am writing regarding your statement on Monday, November 25, concerning migration, fentanyl trafficking, and tariffs.

You may not be aware that Mexico has developed a comprehensive policy to assist migrants from different parts of the world who cross our territory en route to the southern border of the United States. As a result, and according to data from your country’s Customs and Border Protection (CBP), encounters at the Mexico–United States border have decreased by 75% between December 2023 and November 2024. Moreover, half of those who arrive do so through a legally scheduled appointment under the United States’ CBP One program. For these reasons, migrant caravans no longer arrive at the border.

Even so, it is clear that we must work together to create a new labor mobility model that is necessary for your country, as well as address the root causes that compel families to leave their homes out of necessity. If even a small percentage of what the United States allocates to war were instead dedicated to building peace and fostering development, it would address the underlying causes of human mobility.

On another note, and for humanitarian reasons, Mexico has consistently expressed its willingness to help prevent the fentanyl epidemic in the United States from continuing. This is, after all, a public health and consumption problem within your society. So far this year, Mexican armed forces and prosecutors have seized tons of various types of drugs, 10,340 firearms, and have detained 15,640 individuals for violence related to drug trafficking.

Furthermore, the Mexican Congress is in the process of approving a constitutional reform to classify the production, distribution, and commercialization of fentanyl and other synthetic drugs as a serious crime without bail. However, it is publicly known that the chemical precursors used to produce this and other synthetic drugs are illegally entering Canada, the United States, and Mexico from Asian countries. This underscores the urgent need for international collaboration.

You must also be aware of the illegal trafficking of firearms into my country from the United States.

Seventy percent of the illegal weapons seized from criminals in Mexico come from your country. We do not produce these weapons, nor do we consume synthetic drugs. Tragically, it is in our country that lives are lost to the violence resulting from meeting the drug demand in yours.

President Trump, migration and drug consumption in the United States cannot be addressed through threats or tariffs. What is needed is cooperation and mutual understanding to tackle these significant challenges.

For every tariff, there will be a response in kind, until we put at risk our shared enterprises. Yes, shared. For instance, among Mexico’s main exporters to the United States are General Motors, Stellantis, and Ford Motor Company, which arrived in Mexico 80 years ago. Why impose a tariff that would jeopardize them? Such a measure would be unacceptable and would lead to inflation and job losses in both the United States and Mexico.

I am convinced North America’s economic strength lies in maintaining our trade partnership. This allows us to remain competitive against other economic blocs. For this reason, I believe that dialogue is the best path to understanding, peace, and prosperity for our nations. I hope our teams can meet soon to continue building joint solutions.”

Claudia Sheinbaum, Mexico’s newly elected president

Again, you can't let a ton of people in without a plan for them.

Otherwise you get Sweden with 2 million Islamic immigrants who are creating rape zones, and havoc in general - they don't speak the language, they don't have a job, there are no go areas because of Islamic immigrants, particularly for ladies.

IMHO, you have to have a plan for integration and citizenship, give them 4 or 5 years to earn their citizenship, including the language, and give them a financial reward when they get there.

Provide the schooling for the integration teaching......

If they don't integrate, kick their ass back to the country they immigrated from.....

Good luck getting Congress to pass a bill that includes 500 billion in funding that includes financial incentives and free education to immigrants.

The fact is half of this country just doesn’t want brown people living amongst them. They want the cheap labor available but they don’t want to see them or hear them in their communities. They want them shoved into some unseen corner where they can come grab them to mow their lawns or clean their homes but don’t want them in their restaurants, churches, stores, or gyms.

Congress had a unique time to get a bill passed with a Dem party willing to accommodate a pretty conservative bill and they squandered that because of allegiance to Trump. They want to run on the issue not try and solve it… because they know their voters actually cannot be satisfied regardless because what half of the country wants with immigration is not a reality that can be achieved.

The only thing that’s likely to happen that could lead to change is for Trump to harm the country’s workforce by deporting hundreds of thousands (millions is unachievable) and let Americans see what life is really like without immigrants. It means sh$t costs a hell of a lot more, and a lot of small businesses go under and a lot of empty restaurant buildings.

America needs to touch that hot stove and see what it gets when it does. They voted for Trump after they should have remembered how awful he was and did it anyways because again they got suckered into fantasy. I say this time let them actually get what they want and eat their own cooking. If they get what they actually voted for they are going to hate it and maybe just maybe in a few years some real leadership can emerge with a real solution that makes sense can happen. Until then, people need to get burned from touching that hot stove.

‘Trump is not wrong’: MSNBC analyst admits immigration policy ‘not Biden’s finest moment’

    https://nypost.com/2025/01/02/media/msnbc-analyst-admits-biden-immigration-policy-not-finest-moment/

    excerpt:

A “Morning Joe” contributor on left-leaning MSNBC admitted that the administration’s immigration policies were “not Biden’s finest moment” and conceded that President-elect Donald Trump “is not wrong” about the low number of illegal crossings when he left office.

Steve Rattner, a former Obama administration official who now manages the personal and philanthropic assets of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, made the surprising statements Thursday during a segment that analyzed key trends of 2024.

Rattner pointed to one chart from an op-ed that he wrote for the New York Times earlier this week that showed the stark contrast between the number of border crossings before and after President Biden took office.

“The border was not Biden’s finest moment, frankly,” Rattner said as he highlighted the sharp increase in the number of encounters between border officials and migrants along the frontier with Mexico once Biden took office in January 2021.

“You can see what happened here,” Rattner said while pointing to the graph.

“And Trump is not wrong when he talks about how border crossings were quite low. They’re running about 74,000 a month when he left office and they, in fact, did shoot up.”

Then give the reward for anyone that can pass the citizenship test. One time 10k payment…..if we can bail out banks we can fix immigration.

When the vast majority of Americans never had a negative interaction with a illegal migrant and in many cases don't know many of the service workers they interact daily or weekly in their town they live in are illegal, it creates a perfect situation for a group of wealthy capital owners to demonize the migrant population making these group of people less sympathetic to the general American public, promise mass deportations, claim they have deported millions without actually doing it and 99% of their voting base will never notice. Why? To create a near indentured servitude class of humans who you can abuse and face no consequences from said abuse and exploitation.

This is the only thing any voter needs to know about illegal immigration. You're welcome.

Immigration bill first up for House Republicans

    https://www.politico.com/live-updat...s/immigration-bill-up-for-house-vote-00196828

    excerpt:

A Senate vote on advancing the legislation is expected to happen Friday, POLITICO scooped yesterday. With 52 Republican senators expected to support it — Sen.-elect Jim Justice (R-W.Va.) won’t be sworn in until next week — eight Democrats or independents would have to come along to break a likely filibuster and ultimately pass the bill.

On Monday, Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) became the first and only Democrat to co-sponsor the legislation, as Punchbowl News first reported.

“Laken Riley’s story is a tragic reminder of what’s at stake when our systems fail to protect people," Fetterman told POLITICO in a statement. "No family should have to endure the pain of losing a loved one to preventable violence. Immigration is what makes our country great. I support giving authorities the tools to prevent tragedies like this one while we work on comprehensive solutions to our broken system.”
