Agree, this should have been done sooner, but obviously he's gotten 35 games with the big league team and now can get some time as the lead guard with the Vipers. Cross referencing the Roxs and Vipers schedule this may be a quick turn visit in Jan. - Rox have games 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 16, 18, 20, 22 & 25. - Vipers have games 7, 9, 11, 17, 20, 25 & 31. Could see him playing 3 games 7, 9 & 11 and come back for rest of Jan depending on how he does. Personally, I think he could use more time at RGV, but they may want to just give him a taste and see how he responds. If he looks good, bring him back. If he doesn't give him more time. That 6-day gap in the Vipers schedule just seems too easy to just bring him back.
I'm glad we'll be able to see some extended game footage of him. The big league is too much for him at the moment, but I'm not writing him off at all.
From a player development standpoint, yeah Reed should have gone down when he was taken out of the rotation. Reed sitting on the bench for the Rockets didn't hurt the team as we have other options. Who knows who he will ultimately become as an NBA player. Reed looked tepid and always second quessing whether to shoot or not then rushed his shot or passed open a good shot.
Agreed. And I'd expect him to be closer to 40% (and hopefully above). If he's not shooting close to 40% three pointers, then there are way too many other taller, longer, better defending guards that can shoot 35% three pointers that will eventually take his spot. But I think he'll eventually get there and shoot it at around 40% or more.

I'll go see that in person if he is still with the team by then. On a Friday night, it will probably take me the same amount of time driving from Dripping Springs to Cedar Park in rush hour traffic as it would to just drive to the Toyota Center from my house.
