Yeah, I think if you expect us to actually go anywhere meaningful (maybe the second round, if we get lucky?) this season with the roster as-is you're mildly deranged. Pretty sure there hasn't been a team like this to win a championship in all of NBA history, but if there has, it must have been 30+ years ago. We'll see if any of these guys evolve into legitimate top 10 players. If not, we have to get one somehow.
You have a hard time convincing me that Stern targeted the Rockets when the Lakers had Kareem (admitted recreational drug user), Magic (not cheating on Cookie if he leaves by the morning), and Worthy (trying to get a Houston hooker).
Lol come on. I don't even find watching LeBron to be that fun. Like MJ and Kobe's game were more aestheticly pleasing but especially compared to Kobe, LeBron was just a significantly more impactful player on the court.
I don't like that LeBron's argument is simply longevity. That's not good enough. And that's as somebody who really likes him as a player (not so much as a GM or secret player-coach). I'm 99.8% certain he's been using PEDs to stay in the league and continue to be this productive for so long. I don't really care that he's doing it, I understand completely--but I'll take peak production over volume, thank you very much. MJ is still the GOAT, Hakeem is top three and regular NBA fans do not understand how enormous of a lift his two rings were. If Hakeem played for a better front office he would have at least come close to matching MJ for championship rings.
"I dont care what you think" Cries to other members about what I thought just two posts later LMAO Glazing Lebron flatout lying about not caring. get a life man.
Lebron's argument isn't simply longevity. For one LeBron for his career is advanced analytics guy's wet dream. Impacted at all levels from scoring, elite playmaking, defense. He just didn't have that ultra aggressive clutch mentality that someone like Kobe or MJ had
I understand he's been an incredible player for a long time. What I'm saying is that all else being equal, his argument is longevity. All else isn't equal. MJ had a better peak. Period, full stop. I think some other players probably did too but I don't really want to get into it.
Lebron is top 5 player... the body of Malone, the athleticism of Jordan, the creativity of Magic, and the longevity of Kareem. ...but the way he impacted the game is a huge negative for me. He brought the flopping of Vlade, the diva attitude of Shawn Kemp, the ego of Marbury, and FT choke of Nick Anderson to new levels.
Dude, how are you constantly so wrong on a bunch of stuff lol? You said Wilt never won a title and now you’re saying MJ didn’t win an NCAA title? Maybe at least do a quick google search first if you’re gonna post blatantly incorrect stuff.
Minus some PED revelation, it shouldn't impact his legacy in an on-court sort of way, because it is amazing, but it is illuminating a lot of the media bias. He is playing well, setting lots of records, but he is not an impactful player anymore. He does what he does but has been a minus this season for the Lakers. What that has led to is the media and fans claiming LeBron is still top 10 to 20, but also not expecting him to play defense or be a positive player for his team because he's an old man. Either he's still a star or he's an old man. Unfortunately, the NBA still needs him and the Lakers to be relevant so they cheat for them. Another thing that is happening is that LeBron's accomplishments are taking a weird hit. For example, 4 championships in 20 years does not have the same ring as 4 in 15 years. Same with the his 4 MVPs. It's also been more than 10 years since his last one. Getting the 30 point game record is cool, but needing hundreds of more games to do it is not.
