I know you do, i showed you one data example of why that’s utter lunacy. Anyone can say anything, you can say jalen is better than shai if want.
The real issue are Jalen only and Jalen first fans. They are even worse than Lin fans ever were. Totally delusional cultists that would tell you Jalen and Sengun are "about the same" despite all evidence to the contrary
Stats can be misconstrued. I saw a statical statement that said Alpi was a Top 5 player 22yrs an under statically All - Time. ALL - TIME? Anyone who believe that, SOFs included, is insane. And that's what I'm saying about stats. A player can be in a system or have an opportunity that favors him to be able to have good stats but is he really that good of a player? Alpi came in the league at 18 - 19, while Jokic, Embiid, Hakeem, Ewing, Jordan, etc started later. And because the Rockets feature him, he's going to put up numbers but does that put him on their level? No!
As a Jalen supporter, I havent seen anything that makes me think he has figured it out. He has shown a small improvement as he has had every year so far, but nothing that indicates he made some quantum leap. Maybe what you are seeing is Jalen's annual ramp up leading to post all star break Jalen.
Probably because they see the game from a different point of view. A Player's point of view, while others see it from a fans point of view. Player's understand the differences
He's made a significant difference just in the past week or two by scoring more in the mid - range. Also, Ime is letting him initiate the offense more, while FVV is playing more off ball. Something I've been advocating more of for a while now. And his defense has been good as well. Made you been on a winter vacation?
2 weeks is too small of a sample size. In thise two weeks he also had the typical Jalen bad inefficient game where he bricked a lot of 3s. Like the loss in Miami he shot 30% fg and 1/8 from 3.
That's sort of true. .. but not all "points of view" are equally valid. It may be your point of view that 2+2=147 despite that being objectively wrong.... and you are absolutely free to live with that delusional "point of view".... but no one is going to take it seriously. If a "point of view" isn't based in reality, it's meaningless. The point of view that the worst starter on the Rockets 4 years running is "about the same" as the best player on the Rockets 3 years running is baseless and delusional. Most metrics have Jalen as not even a top 10 player in his own draft class while Sengun is at worst top 3 in that same class. There's just no argument to be made.
Sure, like i said you are allowed to think whatever you want. It’s the same nonsense as the jalen points at a young age thing. However, a player with good stats and good metrics is probably much better than a player with bad stats and bad metrics, and your argument ultimately is that the bad stats/bad metrics player might have actually been as good as the good stats/good metrics player, which i disagree is possible.
Stat-padding: An action that improves a player's statistics despite being of little benefit to his or her team or its chance of winning.
This is why I like his extension. If he had improved offensively but remained ass on defense we would still feel the same way. He may just be a microwave scorer off the bench next year. I think he Would’ve got a similar deal in RFA.
His contract only works here because I doubt he has that same defensive intensity with any other coach who is not all defensive. He has likely not the same value with another team therefore still not high. He has to maintain and show the same improvements under a few other coaches to cement that this is legit.
Did you really expect what is essentially a religious zealot to agree with something tantamount to heresy in their faith?
