The EV tax credits that was included in the bill biden signed had strict made in America content rules. Car makers only qualified for tax subsidies if their entire supply chain was from America. This means the cars have to be assembled in usa, the batteries that go into the cars have to be built in America and lastly the mining materials used in the batteries have to be sourced in USA as well. This is why we've seen over 900 new factories getting built right now so they can make the batteries here in USA instead of China where they were being built first. The law isnt giving money to any specific automaker. Its giving it to whoever builds **** here in USA.
