This makes sense If you have a low opinion of what Amen would do with more usage.

Jimmy and Alperen would be tremendous half-court intellect to assist Amen, IMO. I think our execution would actually improve.

I also think Jimmy is possibly a better passer/creator/organizer than Fred, too.

There is no way that I see it make sense to pay Jimmy a significant extension.

The Heat will certainly not get what they want out of the Butler situation. They are painted into a corner at this point.

If you were going to S&T him next year.... SA? BRK? I honestly think BRK would be a good target to trade Himmy next year if he wants max $$$. He likes big markets & could help lead BRK back to "prominence".

Tell me about it. This is why I think we have to make some sort of move. We have to go for it now. Either get Jimmy or Fox.

One perennially disgruntled guy I always wanted on the Rockets was Isaiah Rider.

They could just want him to opt out next season and be gone. Even better if they get anything for him.

On NBA radio today a former Chicago Beat Writer was talking about Jimmy and he said "Jimmy mirrors the state of the organization he's a part of and that if the coach is doing things the right way (Jimmy's version of the right way) then he's a positive force for the team."

I haven't been a proponent of acquiring Jimmy, but the discussion went on to conclude with his suspension the cost of a trade had gone down and that he would never play for the Heat again, which means in business terms he's a distressed asset. With that in mind, if we can acquire him and perhaps turn it into a bigger deal with the Kings...

    Rockets get their STARS.JPG

Heat do this to get some value for Jimmy: Brooks gives them a solid replacement at SF and some dawg. Huerter is a great shooter who will revive his career in the Heat's system. Tate is solid bench player.

Rockets get Butler at SF, Fox to replace FVV, and Burks as an additional shooter off the bench. Rockets go "all in" with limited cost and get a preview before they have to commit long-term to either player. It's a pipe dream, but what the hell.

Kings: replace Fox with a competent PG (FVV), Landale is solid b/u C and a 1st in 2029 (Top 5 protected) and 2 2nds (2025/2027). The likely want more for Fox, so this likely would hurt more, but he's also looking to get out so maybe we can

Heat would have to create 3 spots for all those players (i.e. don't have to trade that many players). Gotta believe Miami wants another FRP because Grizzlies picks will be in 25 - 29 range for 2025. I would hope Htown can get in on that deal (if it is happening).

MEM: Butler (MIA) + Burks (MIA) + Richardson (MIA)

MIA: Smart (MEM) + Clarke (MIA) + Tate (HOU) + 2 FRPs from MEM

    HOU: Kennard (MEM)

The Heat must be completely distracted by this mess right now. It's almost impossible to get blown out at home by 36 by the Jazz.

Butler will opt in next year. Getting 2 years out of him and getting 2nd round or WCF will gelp Alpi and Amen down the line.

I don’t really want 35 yo Jimmy Butler with his temperament. Not at that salary. I’d maybe consider a straight trade with FVV if that was magically on the table. But not giving up any assets for him and would rather have the cap flexibility than old, whiny Jimmy B.
