Yea he also doesn’t look ready to play full time PG to me either. I know some advocate that he has to go through those reps, but yea it would be a little scary to be honest. Not sure what the right answer is. But it feels like we would still need to make sure another point guard is coming back our way. Unless they want to try Jalen, Holiday, Reed, Amen mix. None of them a true natural point.

Initiator duties would be shared between Amen, Jalen, and Sengun. Most the time Amen initiates the offense he does very well, although that is a very small amount of the time. Guys like you get a narrative about a player and won't let go. Just like Sengun, Amen works tirelessly to correct his weaknesses. He has made progress at both shooting and handling. We are not a contender this year. It is the perfect time to give Amen more minutes facilitating the offense. He might have more turnovers than FVV, but he would speed up the offense and, hopefully, unleash Jalen. We won't know until they give it a try. It is obvious to me that the organization sees Amen to be their point forward/guard going forward. Could the offense be more of disaster than it is now? I don't think so.

Have any of our insiders on the site responded yet regarding whether the rockets are even interested in Buttler? I’ve seen different reports out there. One of them says Houston and Phoenix two most agressive teams and the other report says rockets have no interest in a big trade this year. Multiple sauces situation lol

Im so tired of people on this board attacking real concerns and opinions calling them "narratives". Its not a narrative that Amen has not looked good as a playmaker and this is coming from one of the biggest Amen fans on this board. I actually have said he should start over Jalen but WE NEED A POINT GUARD WHO CAN SHOOT alongside him.

initiator duties would be shared between a weak ball handler in Amen whose turnover rate is currently much higher than his assist rate, Jalen who averages 2.5 assists to 2.4 turnovers a game, and Sengun…yeah, that’s a disaster

the offense could absolutely be more of a disaster than it is now when aside from all the usual bad shooting, the turnovers skyrocket as well

@Reeko is a flip flopper. He just goes with the trends. Guarantee if Amen would start dominating as the starting point he would start sucking him off like he was doing with Jalen during his hot stretch. Then he’ll start talking mess at the first sign of adversity. Look how much he wants Fox now…he’s a front runner

So your theory is that a Rockets fan who doesnt think something is gonna work because of given info would be happy if it worked out??? Im pretty sure thats ****ing all of us when we have an opinion unless youre a troll and dont want the Rockets to win? I swear some of you are teenager's or just arent thinking before you type lol

True. And there might be a step back, but opening up the usage might be worthwhile.

Bucks ran a ton of Giannis at PG early in his career and it paid off. I often wonder If we should take the lumps and run Amen at PG all damn game, with more usage for JG and Alperen too.

We are at the end of Jimmy's career he isnt trying to experiment bro is trying to win. So we are setting it up for him to just be unhappy in Houston too. Unless he just wants to end his career in Houston. But he coulda came here a long time ago with harden and decided not to. I think we should return the favor.

Not interested unless Butler comes cheap and with a shooter (maybe Robinson) as part of the trade. Same goes for Fox from Sacramento. Huerter or McDermott would have to be included. Otherwise the Rockets are just spinning their wheels and limiting future options.

I remember that but that was when the assumed price was us sending out some actual assets. But if the trade can be had for just FVV and second rounders, does that change their willingness to do it? I guess not

Butler isn't really concerned with winning a championship. He wants to get paid. He wants an extra $100 million tacked on to his current contract.

I'm sure we'd get a motivated star for at least this and next season, but after that, he's going to be too old to earn his money. Maybe it'd be worth it if the young dudes develop and get a couple of rounds of playoff experience. But probably not.
