No, it was obvious what you were doing kiddo, you were trying to deflect from how trash Jalen has always been by suggesting the best player on the Rockets was the same. It wasn't clever. Sengun is statistically one of the best bigs in the league...should be an All Star this season, and Jalen isn't even a starting caliber player overall despite a few good games sprinkled in once a month or so.
Let me ask you this and I hope you answer it honestly. How many centers are deserving of an All-Star nomination, outside of Jokic and Embiid?
What's for real? 3 assists total in the last 3 games & 11 in the last 5. 6 of 24 from 3 over the past 3 games. 25/62 from the floor in the past 3 games. That's .403. 42/108 from the floor in the past 5. That's .435. 1 steal in the last 3 games and 3 in the last 5. 2 Wins 3 Losses in the last 5 games. Someone tell me what he figured out?
I just can't believe they gave him an extension. That gives me the same vibe as when UH gave Dana Holgorsen an extension. I'm like why? I feel the extension is their way of saying we didn't make the wrong draft decision and they don't want to eat their slice of humble pie. But, Houston Sports teams (Rockets, Astros, Texans) have made bad decisions for decades so it just makes me think is this the humidity or traffic that causes this.
You think Embiid deserves an All Star nomination this year? LOL, yet another hot take from the hot take machine. In the West, Jokic, Sengun, Wemby, maybe Anthony Davis.
Yes. In last night's game, Jalen was the only player on the Rockets that had a good game. I'm not sure what that has to do with what you responded to though.
He's looking better and he's the only one that showed up last game but he's needs more games than that for folks to b convinced. Slow and steady, he's trending up though.
I'm still yet to see Jalen only fans. He's got a following here but once we extended him we have to assume the organization sees something (unless they trade him) I think I've asked you this before but why do you hate him so much? He's inconsistent but he's not a problem outside of that. Seems personal. I don't see you go after any other Rockets like you do him. Smith would have been an easy target but you leave h alone
It is the difference between Jalen skeptics (not haters) that skeptics can admit and appreciate his good games, but Jalenstans cannot except that he has bad games. They would have to give up their card, because they would have to be admitting he is terrible 80% of the time.
Totally fair. That's kind of everyone though, the same could have been said about James Harden at his peak. The best you can hope for is players who are rarely bad.
100% Honestly I'm not sure "Jalen haters" actually exist. I'm sure some would call me one, but I very much enjoy his good games usually....unless the Rockets absolutely get their asses kicked, I don't enjoy ANYTHING about those kinds of games.
No question. We still need a star. I didn't love Harden here. To me he always played for himself. My hope was Jalen was included in a trade. Fine with moving Smith too. He's got time but right now it seems like his ceiling is Rashard Lewis. We're extremely young but at some point we need veteran leadership. Clock will strike midnight for this team if not
Yes, many of us have seen elements of today's basketball in its early stages with Harden-Rockets. 1) Pick and Roll (Harden and Capela), Harden eventually refused the pick because both defenders would double Harden. It would make it easy for opposition to double Harden in the area where he was driving. 2) Teams understand that the Rockets are big on analytics and know that the plays designed are only viable with shots near the rim or 3-point shot. Anything in between (such as midrange can be left open). So Sengun could/can be half-heartedly guarded at FT line to 3-point line. And since teams don't fear, and actually encourage Sengun to shoot 3's......teams don't actually take parts of plays serious, depending on who is in the play. X's in the midrange can be left unguarded while coaches overload O's near rim and along 3-point line. Thunder guarded us this way in our recent tournament game. Running everyone off the 3-point line and protecting the rim and paint like it's some kind of medieval castle entrance. Rockets were forced to give in and allow Harden and CP3 to shoot midrange shots, for no other reason than to keep opponents honest. Sengun can shoot the Free Thrown line shot because that forces the defender to get closer to Sengun (try to block the shot) and then Sengun can dribble past said defender. Hit cutters along the baseline. I cringe when seeing Jalen Green shooting a 20-foot (2-pointer) but if it goes in at a 60% rate or better, then I accept it. Especially if it leads to Jalen feeling good about his game and unlocks him for 28 points a game level with average to better than average efficiency. One would not teach Jeff Bagwell batting stance but he delivered......Jalen Green shooting midrange shots would not be recommended; but if Green can be efficient as a result, one can just shrug one's shoulders. **A discouraged shot might make Jalen Green focus harder on that shot......in turn gets the ball over the front of the rim and adds better backspin on said shots. ?Resulting in makes?
I notice you didn't mention Sabonis, who I compare Alpi to. A good center but not great. The reason for my question and you addressed it partially, there are just not a lot of great centers in today's game, only 3 - 4 max. I know you're an Alpi fan but to me he's a GOOD player, not great. Similar to Sabonis. Are they true All -Stars....NO WAY. However in today's game, because the center position is limited, all you have to be is just good. Although I did vote for Alpi, because he's a Rocket, however is he a true All - Star....No way!
Can you show me where skeptics appreciated the game and didn't take a dump on him in the same sentence? Which skeptics are you talking about?
If you want a simple way to look at how many good/bad games they have, you can use basketballreference gamescore Sengun: 5 great games (over 25 score), 8 really good games (20-25), 6 decent games (15-20), 7 not so good games (10-15), 7 bad games (5-10), 1 horrible game (0-5) Jalen: 1 great game, 6 really good games, 3 decent games, 5 not so good games, 12 bad games, 7 horrible games Both have played 34 games. Sengun is really good or better 38.2% of games and bad/horrible 23.5%. Jalen is really good or better 20.6% of games and bad/horrible 55.9% of games. It's not remotely close, saying they are both "up and down" is lunacy.
They aren't really comparable... unless you just see them as 2 foreign white guys and that's all you can see. Sengun is considerably better defensively making him better overall. I'm not really a Sengun fan.... I'm a Rockets fan, not a player based fan, a foreign concept for many apparently. He's been the best player on the Rockets for the past 3 years and it's not close. If you don't think he's an all star, you don't think any Rocket should even be considered at all. Sengun is one of the top centers in the West. No one else on the Rockets even comes close to the top at their position in the West.
