A prosecutor cannot call a defendant to testify. The 5th Amendment guarantees that you are not compelled to be a witness against yourself.

Are in favor of convicted felons having long delayed sentencing? Is that good for society?

This again shows that we have a multi tier justice system where presidents and former presidents are not subject to the law.

That's ridiculous, as he shouldn't have been there in the first place.

The handling of the "case" from top to bottom....

Trump's taken that precedent to a new high. The guy committed crimes left and right throughout multiple states, and is still walking free and running for office. I don't think any President in history has gotten away with so many crimes.

It's a 2 tiered justice system, and Trump is a prime example of someone treated with kid gloves, simply because of his "entitled" life and occupation. That, and the fact that people with millions to spend on lawyers learn to work the system. Trump has years of experience using his money to buy his way out, delay, delay, challenge, and delay trials to avoid doing the time, or pay retribution, especially when those suing him don't have the same advantage to afford the costs for the suits. Let's just hope when all of these trials finally get over with that he has so many years of prison he'll be locked away for life. With all his charges in the numerous cases that should be a given, especially when that guy probably won't live 20 more years.

The case should have been dismissed after the SCOTUS ruling... so many parts of the testimony and evidence were now inadmissible... But the entire case from beginning to end was a farce. Novel legal theories used to string misdemeanor offenses together with an unnamed federal crime to form 34 imaginary felonies... all with a biased, conflicted judge and a completely discredited star witness (Michael Cohen). This was a case about bookkeeping and accounting -- something Trump didn't even do. The American public saw the case for what it was -- yet another political attack and an abuse of the government to attack Trump. Thank GOD Trump got elected to put a stop to this. Our legal system was rapidly being discredited by Democrat abuses.

Are you high? The crimes were committed before Trump was President. Even if they would have been deemed "official acts" (they weren't) he wasn't President to be able to use the Supreme Court ruling.

Much of the testimony and evidence was from during his term as President. You just revealed that you don't know a whole lot about the case. Your opinion is discounted accordingly.

Giving the 78-yr old convicted felon the significant finger !

Supreme Court allows Trump's sentencing in New York hush money case

The decision on a 5-4 vote with four conservatives dissenting meant the conservative-majority court changed course after having previously handed Trump two big wins last year. Trump is set to return to the presidency on Jan. 20.

    • Chief Justice John Roberts and Amy Coney Barrett sided to liberal justice Sotamayor, Brown and Kagan.
    • Grifters Clarence Thomas and joe Alito and Trump appointees Kavanaugh and Gorsuch opined that the current civilian Trump should be afforded presidential immunity
