People still think Sengun isn’t a “franchise” player, huh?

I think Sengun is ranked way too high on this list.

Sabonis has better numbers all across the board. Although his team sucks and he is a reason why, the eye-test with stats really matters.

It is not about the numbers..
    It is about the impact..
Sengun is the hub, brain and center of this team, whereas in Kings Fox is...
Sengun and Jokic are the most dominant bigs in NBA- because they dictate the game..
Sengun at 22 years old almost broke everyrecords and probably the best big in Rockets history after Hakeem..
Hakeem number 1, Sengun number 2...when he retires...

You do realize there are two sides to the Court, right? Yes, Sabonis' offensive numbers are similar to Sengun's. Defensively, however, there is just no comparison. Sabonis has a 112 defensive rating v. Sengun's 104. Senguns' Defensive WS of 0.161 v. 0.108. Etc. This is why Sengun is top ten in Net RTG among players who average 30+ mpg (110) v. Sabonis who is much lower (3.6).

What was wrong with his performance? Excellent game plan to go 2 bigs and clog the paint and forcing the perimeter guys to beat you. Murphy broke it down perfectly in the post game. Some of us in the game thread with 1 minute to go in the half suggested Boston would do exactly that. This is the part where Sengun and coach learn how to counter attack. Spoeltra did it differently, Front with Bam and have Love or Heyward flank before the entry pass.

To be fair to sabonis (who i don't like at all and think is massively overrated), he's shooting 59/42/78 vs senguns 49/22/75 and has a TS of 66% to senguns 55%. Sengun also has a bunch of awesome wings around him with brooks, amen, jabari, tari and sabonis has a bunch of crap around him. If you swap sengun and sabonis, sabonis with our wings would have a much better defensive rating then sengun with the kings crap.

All that said, sabonis is one of the worst contracts in the nba IMO.

Uuummm... Yao Ming was no scrub. If I was drafting again today and had may choice of Yao or Sengun, I'm taking Yao. I realize a lot of the "Sengun Only" crowd wasn't here for the Yao years, but dude was a legit all-star level talent. If not for injuries shortening his career who knows how great he could have been.

Sengun is good and will probably have a much longer career, but skill wise and sheer measurables, I have to put Yao ahead of him as far as Rockets bigs. Along with Moses, Elvin Hayes, Ralph Sampson...

Rockets have to figure out how to get more movement off of Sengun. There is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't have been able to take advantage of them dedicating so much attention to Alpi. If teams are going to take away that portion of our offense, we shouldn't be relegated to just contested threes.

Bit early to tell, but Sengun has a shot to become the second best behind Hakeem.

I just want to see alp give us more than one half this year. He's been lazy on defense lately. But I still want him to make the asg.

The game against the Lakers will be huge for him.

I loved healthy Yao. But it was rare. If I could guarantee health then yes I’d draft him over Sengun. But knowing what we know about his health I just don’t want to suffer again through all those injury years and hence would draft Sengun since I do think he’ll have a longer healthier career and will also be an all star.

Man, I do wish Sengun had Yao’s shooting touch though. That would be a total game changer. Healthy Yao was unstoppable (unless we played Carlos Boozer of course lol )

Sengun isn't the problem. He might not be the answer, but he isn't the problem right now.
