I adore Fred, but Fred for Jimmy should be discussed.

You could take the training wheels off of Amen and JG, which needs to happen. We need to develop a star internally.

    1. Amen
    2. Jimmy
    3. DB
    4. Jabari
    5. Alperen

    6. JG
    7. Tari

I think it is interesting. Maybe it is about more than money with Jimmy. You get the team above into the playoffs and they are god damn scary, and Jimmy could help us transition both Amen and JG into lead backcourt guards.

    could also be...

Houston in -- Jimmy and Duncan Robinson

Miami in -- FVV, Tate and Reed

    works in Fanspo trade machine

Butler may be just the right person to mentor Amen

I see what you mean, but If the Rockets FO and coaching staff has already lost faith in Reed Sheppard after touting him so highly, we need to fire all of them.

I don’t think that is the case at all, and I don’t think we will sell low on Reed.

could be the opportunity for Reed to grow--

but FVV for Jim works just fine -- plus a couple of picks

Pat Riley isnt stupid. They do need a point guard but if they get rid of jimmy they might as well blow the entire thing up and start over.

Jimmy has gone scorched earth, the Heat don't have much leverage and need to get jimmy moved

Swap it so we keep Reed and throw in one more of our expirings to match salary Uncle Jeff/Landale

Jimmy sounds like a headcase. He really wants a max contract.

Prime James and Jimmy would've been such an elite combo.

30 year old former all-star PG that fits the Heat mold of toughness and intellect. I don’t think they get better offers to be frank.

I’m not even sure RAF would or should do it, but I think it is worth the discussion If you believe in any of Amen+JG+Reed.

We need to up the usage of our young players eventually to see what we have.

If it's Fred and the suns pick I might do it. That's the only way though. A low ball offer where we get him for cheap

I actually don't think Pat has that much leverage. There aren't a lot of teams that can actually trade for Jimmy or want to trade for Jimmy. The Heat are not going to want to take salary back that extends beyond this year unless it's another superstar, which Jimmy is not going to fetch at this point in his career. Jimmy also is coming to a team with the caveat of wanting another large extension and many teams are going to struggle with that as well. The market is limited.

I want him, but only as a rental for this year and next. Extending him at his age would be stupid. It seems like that's what he's expecting though.

Im with you. The reason people think Butler doesn’t get moved is because the offers are likely to be pretty terrible for Miami. Getting a win now PG who is definitely a Pat Riley kind of player on a short term contract that expires next season is pretty good for them along with either a top prospect or a pick. Nothing more than that is what I’d offer and even then for the reasons the offers are likely to be bad with other teams, I’m still kind of nauseous about offering that.

Jimmy Butler has been a great player and truly special competitor but as JVG said often the hardest players to coach are aging superstars. In this case not only is he aging but he also has a track record for being a head case and the answer to challenges is usually to just force a trade. The red flags are all over the place with trading for Jimmy Butler at his age and history which is why the offer cannot be much if anything beyond FVV.

Yall think this group can handle the volatility of a jimmy butler Acquisition. Listening to him
When he arrived in Ninny with that thing squad was turmoil. And we know for a fact wherever he goes to he going be on that time until he get that extension

FVV for Butler makes some sense. Gives Heat an extra year of cap relief. None of the young core 7 should be involved.

I would agree if he weren't insisting on an extension.

This is completely crazy, but it works in espn trade machine and I like it for all sides:

    To Heat:
    D Brooks
    G Payton 3
    J Londale
    Jeff Green
    G Santos

    To Rockets:
    D Fox
    B Hield
    B Prodziemski

    To Kings:
    A Wiggins
    A Holiday
    C Whitmore

    To Warriors:
    J Butler

Heat replace Butler with Brooks and expirings.

Rockets add Fox and Hield's shooting for Whitmore, Brooks, and salary filler.

Kings get a promising young player in Whitmore and ready to go forward in Wiggins for Fox.

Warriors added Schroeder so losing Hield isn't as relevant. They move Wiggins and Hield for Butler unloading long term money at the same time. This would put them at about 135 million leaving them 20 million under the cap this offseason.

May need some picks moved around to even some value....
