Even if the intent might have been positive originally, it has created the opposite effect, and it has long crossed the line to Absurdistan.

How did he shoot himself and then detonate a bomb? Or the other way around?

Perhaps, Matthew Livelsberger self identified as an "Illegal Immigrant" who is known to be "eating the cats and the dogs". The Convicted Felon knows this to be true.

This complaint is why people don't care about people who b**** about DEI. This is trivial b****ing.

As a child of South Asian immigrants, I have family friends and relatives who are an older generation than me tell me how Trump and MAGA complaints about black people have merit. They say hoe they can't admonish Black IT workers in their professional work environment like they do white IT workers or else be fired for discrimination. South Asian immigration brings in a lot of right wing reactionary sentiments. A lot of the Asian immigrant culture is very racist towards Black folks... and its often very open.

Whats weird about it? Are you shocked that MAGA are domestic terrorists after January 6?

What is the purpose of screening an applicant by asking for their sexual orientation or gender identity or whether they are "transgender" vs "cisgender"? Who is this helping?

I guess it's intended for data-collection so they can say "look, we receive this number of trans or gay applicants and we didn't discriminate against them". It helps the company against lawsuits, perhaps. But if I'm an applicant to that company, being asked personal questions that have nothing to do with the job itself gives the impression that this data could be used against me.

Anyway, I just realized this is pretty tangential to the current thread. My apologies.

Is this supposed to convince me this isn't a trivial complaint and petty b****ing?

I'm just judging on your posts. You told me I wasn't middle so I can't afford you the same courtesy you wouldn't give me.

Lou os far left from his posting. I doubt he'd disagree with me.

No, it was intended to get your thoughts on what the benefits of asking such questions might be. But feel free to ignore.

The fact you and your relative wasted time on such a trivial matter is enough for me to not care about spending time thinking about why a corporation asks questions about gender orientation on a form.

Social media has made you care about this subject. Without social media your brother in law wouldn't notice those questions and just naturally answer them.

I was following this fairly closely this weekend and this is a born in the USA male, went into the Army and served 10 years. When he got out, he got into Real Estate, but then his license expired, and marital issues ensued. IMO he was looking for "something" to grasp onto and went extreme with his Islamic views (was raised a Catholica) and appears to be radicalized. IMO It's similar to young kids in urban areas who have nothing to look forward to and end up making a gang their real family. This is the rabbit hole that folks who "may" have a mental health can go down, I am sure we have someone in our lives who have gone down the rabbit hole with Q or even to maga, there is so much dishonest info out there that people get baited in. Hell, right after it happened you had trump and fox telling lies and that will stick with some people.

To be honest when these things happen, I don't give a rat's ass if there left or right or muslim or Catholic. This dude was an AMERICAN who served 10 years and a Texan to boot, we have to figure out why and how this happened. At the end of the day this will continue to happen, we are all getting numb to it in some degree, extremism has taken a foothold in this country, and we can stay on this path and try and normalize things like J6 or we can say NO....THAT is NOT normal, maybe that's how they do things in other Countries, but I thought we were above that

You should read that Woke.inc book by Vivek (or a summary of it).

The point of this is that it is dictated from above, by the Blackrocks of the World. Companies get punished by them if they do NOT ask these questions. It's not a grassroots thing where companies voluntarily ask these questions.

Potential for discrimination against applicants is a trivial matter for you. Got it. I take it you are job-secure. People who are looking for a job (like my brother-in-law) would probably disagree.

You can stop responding, and wasting further time, now.

Well I'm sure the corporate executive is saying mission accomplished when they see people's struggles in finding secure stable well paying jobs is being blamed questionaires asking if you are trans.

It ain't the Jack Welch style modern era of corporate management gutting long standing engineering powerhouses companies into glorified financial institutions. Its the trans questionnaire.

I just got back to the US yesterday and quite disturbing. Also sadly not surprised at the misleading posts and statements from politicians including our next president falsely claiming that the perpetrator was a recent immigrant.
