Yeah, I know - it seems like that's always his status. 300ish games in 7 years played - and that's not counting the 8th year he didn't play because of injury or the two years he played overseas because NBA teams had given up on him....

 

Cam was very productive off the bench. He is making a case for more time. His game needs work, but he can score.

 

A couple thoughts on tonight’s game:

Sengun had a great game in both sides of the ball. Some of the best D I’ve seen him play this season. 6 steals tonight. Offensively he kept attacking. He still needs work around the rim, but when Sengun keeps attacking, good things happen.

Cam could be the scorer/shooter we need. We all know that’s what we are lacking. The kid is 20 yrs old. He’s got legit all star potential. One of the best games of his career. We should try to hold onto Cam and we need to keep him in the rotation for the rest of the season.

 

Amen is more of a physical specimen. He's taller, much longer, and a faster twitch athlete on top of it. But I agree with the rest of it.

 

i know people want a trade but everyone in the core is 25 and younger. i say we just roll with what we have and try to build what we have. Rockets are already ahead of schedule. I think we try to trade for Cam Johnson and that's it.

 

Sucks Amen misses the Celtics game. His defensive archetype is perfect against Tatum and Brown.

 

Kyrie Irving is a Free Agent. Kyrie will be perfect. Kyrie is way more humble now and loves teaching to younger players.

Reed Sheppard, Jalen Green, Cam Whitmore, Amen Thompson, Tari Eason, Alperen Sengun can all benefit from having Kyrie as a go to scorer. Kyrie has a wealth of knowledge. Kyrie Irving is must have in the off-season.

 

i hope tari can be back for that tari and JT might be able to do something.

Cam Whitmore is better than Cam Johnson

Cam Johnson contract is horrific expensive.

 

I think Cam got the bigger upside but he is not a better shooter IMO. Rockets desperately needs a shooter that can hit a wide open shot.

Don't want Cam Johnson terrible contract.

 

If he is going to have a good scoring game when he is getting exposed while getting the win.

Let's not forget this Cam still 20 years old.

Dude has great potential.

 

Cam's potential still remains high.. Tari's injuries are worrisome. You can't be a great player if you're injured every season.

Cam's post-game interview suggests he's fed up with Ime's minutes. I would not be surprised if his agent goes to Stone and asks for a trade out like KJM.

Personally, I'd say give Cam 30 minutes every game the next 5 games and see what he can do. If he scores on good efficiency and 3s then by all rights he should be getting more minutes in the long run.
