Jackson Gatlin and Roosh have been called out by Fans and Apollo Hou. By these "Hater Podcasts". Jackson Gatlin was called out by players, Jackson looks grumpy sitting courtside. How in the world does he have this job.
Calling on Uncle Jeff and Aquaman to sit this young buck down and have a heart-to-heart with him about attitude and professionalism.
Cam is not consistently good. Did you see him play in SL and preseason? Say what you want about JG but he is consistently good on defense.
I don’t know man, when was the last time a player not named FVV played 40+ minutes shooting 0 for 8 or whatever. See how badly Lauri was managed, and the whole lob threat fiasco … Some coaches just love their favourites.
Cam played half the game and had 18 points, not sure why this is the game of all games for him to reach his tipping point with playing time? Makes me wonder what’s going on behind the scenes with the team. He’s definitely got superstar potential but he’s very raw at the moment and you can tell that he needs a lot of coaching and tough love to channel his potential in the right direction. But he’s only 20 years old and he’s been used to being the man at every level he’s played and now all of the sudden he’s not getting the playing time he thinks he deserves. Growing up and maturing is developing the self awareness and emotional intelligence needed to observe and understand how others perceive us and how that affects us. Hopefully Cam can continue developing but I’m not optimistic it’ll happen here. In the 2 decades I’ve watched the Rockets and NBA basketball, I’ve rarely ever seen a situation play out well when a player publicly displays frustrations with his lack of playing time.
Many times I have seen Cam missed on pick and roll defense and not running just lazy jog back. That is unacceptable to Ime. Jalen Green is playing hard on defense on pick and roll everytime.
Incorrect, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown had similar issues with both Ime Udoka and Joe Mazzulla until they had better role players around them and both Tatum and Brown played more together. Derrick White, Payton Pritchard, Jrue Holiday - All Star Point Guard Group. Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis shooters at Center. Need more sharpshooters on the Rockets. The Point Guard Situation is a mess in Houston. Reed Sheppard isn't ready, Fred VanVleet is terrible, he is SG. Aaron Holiday can't defend bigger Guards. Rafael Stone has work to do in the off-season, give a big contract offer to Fox, move on from Fred VanVleet. I think Dillon Brooks needs to be traded for another player. Open minutes for Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore.
Do you think Cam has the same role as Green and scores the same way? As in against set poa defenses in the half court?
Why? Rockets are agood teams. Cam hasn't proven anything. He's streaky. Can He put it together? Maybe but he doesn't have that yet. He seems like a 6th man honestly
And keep in mind this is with Jalen playing 30-40 minutes every game not missing one for well over a season now while also maintain a high offensive usage. Cam does lazy gambles that players with tired legs do while playing limited spot minutes and with a low off ball offensive usage role. Now imagine his defense playing 35 minutes a night and being asked to create a majority of his own offense. I feel like a lot of people never did any sort of athletic competition because they just assume infinite energy and stamina when making assumptions.
This really bums me out to see. I love Cam and had high hopes for him on this team, but after this interview I don't really see him sticking around and getting a shot here. I think Cam has a ton of potential and is going to shine wherever he gets an opportunity.
He has improved somewhat...not sure about consistently good. He does seem to show more effort than Cam though. Cam seems to sometimes jog back, Jalen doesn't really do that anymore.
Cam has all star talent. They’re not going to trade just to get rid of him, especially when he’s clearly better than Jalen, that would be dumb. This isn’t the nfl where a player gets cut or traded for having a bad attitude. The nba is a player’s league and they’ll put up with his attitude if he can play.
Dont defend this moronic display lol. What is he talking about that he "doesnt know what else to do"? Cam doesnt have passing like FVV & Green, he doesnt even have Jock Landale passing. Doesnt have Jalen's & FVV handles. He doesnt play defense like Amen, Tari, Dillon, even Tate & Jalen. He doesnt rebound like Amen & Tari. No steals & blocks like them, stumpy little Reed Sheppard easily DOUBLES Cam's total 'stocks'. Cam doesnt have Jabari's length for a frontcourt spot. He wasnt hitting the 3 at all earlier, meaning Brooks had that covered. Holiday is better backup shooter option. And Sheppard since thats his main (supposed) strength The only thing Cam does better on the team is make decent % of 2 pointers. And theoritically can get to the line, but not any better than Jalen & Sengun. Can he be a facilitator? Can he be a coach on the court like Brooks & FVV who've won titles & Olympic medals? Can he defend multiple positions? Its like he wants to be the worst parts of Carmelo, chuck at will and have everyone else surround him on the team to do details & dirty work.
I feel like you type not for sincere thoughts to express but to get attention. Is that a correct assumption?
Sure, they won't trade Cam just to get rid of him, but their willingness to include him in a deal has probably increased after these stupid remarks.
