It has taken time but finally the first real trailer and footage from the second season of “Squid Game” has arrived and teased that this game ‘never ends’. The first season launched to critical acclaim, six Emmys along with an Outstanding Drama Series nomination, and remains Netflix’s most watched single season of any series to date. In the second season, Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who vowed revenge at the end of season one, returns and joins the game again. Will he succeed in getting his revenge? Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) doesn’t seem to be an easy opponent this time either. The fierce clash between their two worlds will continue into the series finale and in season three which was shot simultaneously with the second and will serve as the final run of the series likely next year. Wi Ha-jun and Gong Yoo return from the first season while Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri and Won Ji-an join the new run. Loved season 1 at the time. It's been so long that I don't feel that motivated at the moment. I'm sure I'll be on board before it comes out. It was a great series and I have nothing against it at all right now. But I'm not chomping at the bit or anything either.
was hoping s2 will be from the point of view of the square face staffers. but i guess it's nothing but same same from s1.
The key I think, is that the plot needs to go one level deeper. He has to discover another level or entity that is different. The Trailer did nothing for me. I don't mind a revenge plot, so long as he ends up even deeper than before. This could go either way. But I'm sure they put their best writers on it.
Absolutely, they have to find a new deeper layer to go to. Also this survival game just to entertain some Elon Musks, should go deeper than that as well.
