Yeah i think he’s blacklisted and they are biased against Rockets. Touch calls on Herro etc were ridiculous
offense went cold in the 4th. there was one point where they had only scored 12pts with 2 minutes left of the 4th. also didn't help refs sort of swallowed their whistles in the 4th. heat has twice the FTs rockets got. granted i think 3 or 4 of them were due to technical in the end.
I mean in the context and sentence structurally are not incorrect. He never said anything other than that he scored. He never said (in the comment) that he scored on Amen.....just in general. From the boxscore, he scored the most points in that game ......more than any Rocket player. To be fair, it was a low scoring game by both teams.
I like Marc Davis, he's an impressive dude and has been around a long time, but he had a rough night. I hope Alpe cussed his ass royally!
They aren’t going to be very good at closing out games against good teams until they have a franchise player to lead them on the offensive end at the end of games. They have a bunch of Indians but not a chief on the floor. That player was supposed to be Jalen Green but he isn’t consistent enough or efficient enough. Sengun sometimes has big games in certain match ups but until he expands his game, he isn’t the answer either. So the Rockets will win their fair share of games with defense, limiting turnovers - strong effort and a handful of talented but flawed players… but in the playoffs and in tight games against focused really good teams, they will lose more than they win. So either someone like Amen or Reed makes a major leap offensively - or the Rockets trade for a franchise player —- other wise this team will be the Memphis grind group that plays hard but doesn’t win anything.
I called the loss after FVV hit 2 bad shots in a row. This happens all the time with FVV and Jalen, eventually a couple of their bad shots go in and they suddenly think they’re Kobe Curry. This causes them to jack more bad shots and shoot us out of the game.
Interesting Memphis group these 2 years.....Ja is injured a ton, I have GG Jackson as a standout to break out.
I agree that having a star quality player will raise the level of the offense but this means the team will have to change its offensive style and sets. If you watch how we set up our offense the spacing isn’t there. A lot of the perimeter dribble handoffs go nowhere and our big and both guards are in a tight triangle formation to set up a Sengun iso, DHO, or high screen and roll. Or Sengun plays mid post with no movement. Again our offense is Sengun centric. Do you think a star who has been an Alpha top option wants to defer to Sengun in this offense? How will that star be utilized? Depends on the position perhaps. But if they’re used the same way Green does in these sets then I don’t believe even a Booker type player or star SG would be the answer unless they completely revamp their sets since they run their offense thru the Center and point. How about a dynamic PG like Fox? Depends if they keep Green. I can see that tandem being potent with dribble drives and running the break. Fox would run the high screen and roll efficiently as well. But neither are good shooters. If Green goes in a deal now they have a hole at the 2. Amen can’t shoot and no Cam is not good or a 2. But again this all depends on how they rework their sets because this forced Sengun Centric offense isn’t working
I’ve been traveling and tied up with family stuff so didn’t hear about this until just a little while ago. I miss all the good stuff. I gotta say that was a pretty good throw. I’m willing to give my nickname to Amen Thompson as he’s the real “Rocketsjudoka”
Sengun is 36th in FG attempts per game, 43rd in usage%, 57th in touches per game and 97th in time of possession per game in the NBA. Describing our offense as “Sengun centric” here is just bending over backwards to excuse Jalen. Plenty of teams employ “player centric” offensive game plans, Sengun doesn’t even come close to those guys in usage/touches/time of possession.
Nope our offense runs through Sengun. He initiates the offense. It’s on the game tape. Udoka also have said thid to the press. Rockets play him heavily in high screen and roll, iso in high post, or mid post. Probably better if you watch the games. NBA subscription isn’t that expensive. Maybe try the monthly option first. Also watch with comprehension before spouting off stats that don’t even apply to the discussion
lol ok It’s possibly accurate to say the player we use the most to initiate our offense is Sengun, though I would disagree, but it’s at least possible that statement is statistically accurate. But to call our offense “sengun centric” when Jokic and Denver, Young and Atlanta, Luka and Dallas, Harden and LA etc. exist in the league is a gross exaggeration and based on your posting history a clear ploy to excuse your boys poor play. Sengun just isn’t featured in a way any where near as severe as true “player centric” offenses are in the league.
Watch the games dude. Sengun gets 45 frontcourt touches per game Fred gets 29 Jalen gets 25 Offense runs through Sengun as the first option. Everyone on this site knows this. Who’s my boy? Obviously you don’t read because I have defended most Rockets players from misinformation, bias and hate including Jabari, Holliday and Tate while praising Sengun as well. Go through my posts again. And please watch the games with comprehension
