Or if all teams operated under a system of equitable revenue sharing and salary cap (oh, except European Football, because that's who I want to pattern my sports leagues after), things would look a whole lot different, Dodgers or no Dodgers
Josh Bell gets $6M/1yr from the Nats. Thats probably within a couple mil of what that entire group of veteran position players (Canha, Turner, Heyward, Verdugo, Polanco, etc.) outside of the remaining top 5 (Bregman, Santander, Alonso, Kim, Profar) will get. Winker may still get an 8 figure deal.
What do you think Alonso ends up getting? I kinda feel bad for him. He gambled on himself and he had his worst season . Mets don't offer him more than a 4 year deal
No idea but I made it very clear to him how I felt about him after spending time around him at a ball game. He is even worse in person and he is one of those guys that is loud, never stops talking and is oblivious to the fact that there are people that will stomp his face in for being rude to women and ballpark staff just trying to do their job. He was shocked when he was confronted.
btw: being an an ass to the waitstaff/cleaningstaff/help at any hotel/restaurant/wherever is a major red flag on the douche meter
I travel a lot with my employees and watch carefully how they treat staff along the way. It is a huge revealer of character … and it’s normally the in-office suck-ups who are the worst. Kiss up, kick down. And they normally have no idea how they are coming off. Also, based on that story, I love having @Nook around even more.
I still think he will get 5 years and over $100M and not have to go for a pillow contract. My guess is $130M/5yrs.
You're a good man, and thorough. Also, yes, I do want to know the full story of how @Nook knows that guy will shy away from personal confrontations. And I also understand that that is possibly not something to be discussed publicly, for reasons
He gave a thumbnail above. Sounds like he saw Passan in person at a game being rude to staff, and he must have directly called him on it in person. Which is awesome. But I'd love to hear more.
Yeah - I would say that is true, he is kind of like a super animated Mickey Mouse. What mostly stood out to me is that he is very thin in person and slight. He cannot help that he is built like this - but I was surprised that someone with those dimensions would be as aggressive as he was and then was shocked when people stared at him and he was finally confronted. He talked about having a wife - which surprised me, but apparently he has a wife and kids. Whatever - I just found him to be very rude, loud, obnoxious and he really rubbed me the wrong way.
I’m surprised the Nats haven’t been linked to Bregman, if they are trying to compete he’d be a good fit for them as a good veteran player who can establish a winning culture.
