Im not talking about just Jalen lol Reed is very young. His career could go a number of different ways. he'll get it when he gets it. look at bari he was a great shooter in college and he only just learned how to shoot again in year three.

From a fans view yeah, but I guess journalists gushing over Reed early actually is more dangerous .......

I rather have someone not on the radar exploding than everyone hyping and then the disappointment follows.

That happens in the NBA all the time. Lower guys surprise and higher guys disappoint.....

The point to take him at 3rd spot was that he was already tailor made to this team and can shoot 3s right away.....that was the whole point taking him there.

And that he could become a Nash like playmaker over time but even that was a disappointment.

You could have traded down and take him at 7th or 8th.......let him drop a little.

Yeah he is Mr Glass. But we have depth Id rather he sit out than aggravate his injury.

Suggs also played on a 22-60 Orlando team (15th, last place in the East) and played 27 minutes per game that season. Was he better than Reed has been so far? Sure, fine, absolutely. But it's the difference between eating an actual sh*t sandwich and a PB&J with sh*t mixed into the peanut butter.

None of this means Reed will actually be a good player. Just that it's reasonable to still hope he could be.

Good to see Cam play well, hopefully it gets him out of Ime’s doghouse. Amen Cam and Tari off the bench is going to give team headaches in the playoffs.

Why are you blaming the record on Suggs? lol He isnt responsible for Orlando record just like Sheppard isnt responsible for our record today.

Even if you double Sheppards stats its still less than Suggs rookie stats. If Suggs looked lost Sheppard is on another level.

I get what you are saying though he can turn into a good player. Anything can happen.

I mean, Suggs shot 36% / 21% that season while taking 11.4 shots per game (comparable to the number of shots DB is taking on 43 / 38% shooting this season, for reference). He definitely played a pretty significant role in their awful season. That's how it goes sometimes when you're tanking--you give a bad player a lot of minutes and hope he'll get better. We Rockets fans are very familiar with that, unfortunately. Again, sure, he was better than Reed, particularly on defense. But he was godawful on offense, and he still scored a relatively "normal" amount of points mainly because there wasn't anybody else to take those shots on an abysmal team. I wouldn't be surprised if Reed could at least come close in a similar situation.

I do want to emphasize though that playing poorly is not a good sign, and just because some guys who played poorly turned it around, that doesn't mean it's the expected outcome. Just that it's still reasonably possible, especially when you're talking about a rookie who has just started his NBA career.

I am not even talking about other aspects of the game....

The 2 things he was picked as the 3rd pick were shooting and playmaking.......

He does not seem to be elite at both, sure, we have seen with Jabari that the shooting will come around but he does not have the gravity of a star or a player of Nash's caliber.

Namely he is not quick and he is not uber creative, he is smart that he avoids Turnovers, that would be all. A mechanical robot.

I missed the game, but must have been a pretty good all around performance by the team since the only complaints are about Reed and Jock Landale, lol.

its not about age its about time in the nba. you guys have sat here and watched these guys and how much theyve changed in the last few years and youre really worried about a rookie? lol also yes jabari was bad. he was allowed to be bad and got so many chances and so did jalen. for some reason the newer guys we get under ime somehow arent given that same leeway.

If the car is going slow that must mean it's a slow car. Truly brilliant.

When Green is hot, he is really hot! Whitmore doing work. Would have likely gone for 40 if he had more minutes.

He went thru some very dry periods. Just now coming around. Reed will be fine. I hear he can't miss in practice and in warm ups. He will learn to control his game time jitters. I think he needs an extended period in the G League.

Yes. We’re a bit thin at guard, but Aaron Holiday should be able to hold us. JT can play some guard too.
