A silver plan is not catastrophic coverage. You don't know what you are talking about. A silver plan covers free preventative care, no coverage limits, free children's dental and vision care, etc. Silver Plan Details | Covered California™
Yeah like being on a message board all day on Christmas instead of with their wife and children. People can justify anything.
If your job offers you coverage, you likely don't qualify for the tax credit to reduce your premium on the exchange. Which for me, the cheapest Silver plan would $441/M for just me. The cheapest option at all is $348/M, which both plans come with high deductibles ($7,500 or $6K). Hell of a lot better than my option last year though. There is no $39/M plan without subsidies.
Yes, if you can afford it, you won't get a subsidy. If you cannot afford it, you do get a subsidy. If you can afford it, that means you can switch without the subsidy. Which brings us right back to the point, that you can choose a different plan rather than murder someone because you don't like their business practices.
Illegal guy setting woman on fire on subway getting nowhere near the attention that the penny case got. Just yesterday’s news now. I wonder why?
Because the victim in the subway burning probably didn't also have an effect on the lives and Healthcare of millions of others. Pretty simple, I beleive, the victim in that case was more high profile. Why don't murders that happen between spouses get any attention at all and then stay in the news? They just aren't high profile victims and the problems with those folks don't have an effect on most other people.
I was comparing it to the penny case, duh. But since you brought it up, if the CEO was black the far left would’ve have been singing a much different tune. Argue all you want.
Its really simple a domestic abuse victim is easy to sympathize with. A dude who can retire today(before his death) and live a comfortable lifestyle who has zero qualifications in actuary sciences and medicine making decisions to deny people healthcare that can either significantly reduce the quality of life or even cause death based on maximizing return for shareholders so they can buy their 3rd yacht is simply hard to sympathize with. Unless someone is neurodivergent you can understand why someone like that is a less sympathetic victim.
I don’t care. There is such a double standard here and with the far left media that I will continue to call it out. now go ahead and tell me the far right media is just as bad. or just call me a racist like you want to. No need to beat around the bush. I do not care what anyone here thinks of me.
Right - but it does have something to do with the article I responded to. America hasn’t suddenly lost its moral compass. At least the argument no longer is that Americans aren’t indifferent to the assassination - or that it is all “leftists” - but a realization that many Americans in 2024 have little sympathy for a CEO of a health insurance company with sky high rejection rates being assassinated. It should be viewed as a warning, but instead it is being treated as a basis to castigate Americans and that is going backfire.
Why? Because the “illegal” didn’t murder anyone extremely rich or powerful. The same reason the NYPD went out of their way to track down who killed the CEO. The same reason the assassin had over 100 police around him when they transported him. That has nothing to do with “extreme leftists”… as those that don’t really care much for the CEO murder cut well past political lines.
The "far left" doesn't care if a corporate executive or politician who advocates for the shareholder/executive class is black. Or else the far left wouldnt be the most spiteful to ancient Black politicians like Jim Clyburn who has time and time again blocked genuine economic reform because he is paid off by certain industries. Its the Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton fans that would bring up the race card and those fans are the furthest thing from leftists. Leftists immediately dismiss abu politician, black, white, left handed etc who has something on their record like voting yes to the Iraq invasion. Like a single vote like that will immediately make a leftist dismiss that politician.
If your contribution cost to your employer's plan is less than 10% of your income, it is considered affordable coverage and you do not qualify for subsidies through the exchange. The coverage through the exchange may not be affordable, and you still not qualify for a subsidy.
But most of the time, such as this, you aren't calling out anyone. You just interject race into situations where nobody is even discussing racial issues. You do you. You can certainly harp on race even when it's not at all related as much as you'd like. I was just trying to let you know the way it might seem to others when you bring it up time and time again when nobody else is even talking about it.
the article you responded to nowhere suggests that America/Americans have just "suddenly" lost its moral compass. The article is quite clearly referring to a lengthy process of moral degradation that has occurred over time--the CEO assassination response is just the most recent occasion for a display of that degradation.
Moral degradation I guess is what you call revolutionaries tarring and feathering (an actual deadly practice and not a some funny thing in real life) British loyalists. The reality is society never had much sympathies for parasites at the top of the economic hierarchy. Your talentless business executives skimming billions a while denying basic services like health care and making lives for common folks miserable is going to universally be seen as a parasitic entity that deserves little sympathy. That has nothing to do with moral degradation.
