Dead serious and been asking about why he’s not playing, so since he finally has and shown on both sides why he should play, I feel he deserves time over those 3. Reed is not ready, Cam too selfish and costing us, Aaron too small. Tate can handle the rock as well as defend 1-3 so **** development or midget ball. Play big, do it big and play Tate. Only playing because Tari is out. Ime’s rotation: Fred, Jalen, Dillon, Jabari, Sengun, Amen, Tari Warm bodies: Reed, Steven, Jock, Aaron DNP: Cam, Nate, Jeff, Jae’Sean, Jack, N’Faly We’ll see if Cam can stick in the rotation.
Tate is great in small doses but too much playing exposes his weaknesses. Also, wegotta try and develop our draft picks
I think Sheppard should be sent to RGV, Holiday should be trash time only. Tate should get their minutes during this upcoming stretch of 18 games, that I believe will determine the reasonableness of us making the play-offs. If we are still in the top 6 coming out of this stretch than playing Tate over Cam is reasonable, if not Cam should get all those minutes to prepare for next year when he will probably get the backup job at SF with Amen becoming a starting backcourt player.
2 of those 3 are literal 20 year olds, one of them not even halfway through his rookie season, and you've gotta develop them. Tate is fine to play even at the cost of the others, but you must have forgotten what it was like having a heavy dose of Tate. It was not fun bball, or winning bball either.
Definitely playing bc of Tari’s injury but it has been nice to see JT back on the court. JT brings a lot of what Tari does on defense and it’s fun to watch. Reed should go to the G league and get reps down there. He needs PT to develop and is clearly a year away. Once the game slows down for him, he gains confidence in his shot and learns how to get to his spots against bigger/stronger/faster/smarter defenders; then he will be a problem for the league. Cam is the one who should stay in the rotation. He gives the team an offensive punch that they have sorely missed. I also think Cam is a perfect running mate to Jalen in the 2nd unit. Jalen/Cam/Tari/Amen/Bari is an incredibly fast and athletic lineup that can impact a game on both ends of the floor.
If/when Tari returns, Tate should return to scrub time. Between Jabari, DB, Tari and Amen, there just aren't regular minutes for him. If Cam keeps it up, that's yet another guy in front of him.
Tate is great if you have some big star trade that moves out a bunch of our young talent. But, that hasn't happened and I'm starting to think it won't happen. So, he has to move on if he expects to get decent pay and consistent playing time.
