No one is defending the illegal immigrant’s actions. Some Democrats are perhaps foolish enough to think these should be treated as equivalent acts under the law, but I think most who are angry about the Penny acquittal (and I’m not among them) probably feel he should have been charged with manslaughter.
The connection could not be more obvious. There were two people killed by strangers on the subway. In one instance, the victim was threatening other passengers and the killer tried to restrain them until police arrived. In the other instance, the victim was asleep on the train and an illegal immigrant set them on fire. In both cases, one person killed another on the subway. One has been adjudicated as justified, other is pending. I suspect the migrant who set a sleeping person on fire will not be acquitted on grounds of defense of others.

The people (those that died, those that killed and those who witnessed) weren't connected in any way. Two different and unconnected incidents that happened on the subway. That's it.

I will never understand how woke people feel better about themselves sympathizing with criminals because they are illegal immigrants, black or trans over the victims just because they are white. Woke people don't understand that these people they sympathy with and support don't care about them and would do the same to them if given a chance....
They were connected by being the decedent, killer, or witness to a subway death. Again, the connection couldn't be more obvious. The reasons for the different responses are also obvious, and disgusting.
Everyone agrees the person who killed a sleeping woman deserves to held accountable. The person who restrained and killed the other person was acquitted. I agree there are different reactions and yes those reasons seem obvious.
