What happened to Sengun's shooting this season? Supposedly he was working on multiple outside shots but he seems to have gotten much worse at almost everything. Specifically his flamingo/3 pointer.
He's been overrated. He's not even playing that well this season but somehow his Turkish fanbase has ignored this
when I was sarcastic I was really dragging the thread down, but now that I'm serious, Sengun has lifted me up like I'm Jabari. It's a Christmas miracle.
How is it possible that you never reevaluate your terrible opinions when they aren’t consistent with reality? Like if I said a year ago “Tatum isn’t good enough to win a ring as a lead guy”, and then he did it, I’d be forced to rethink that opinion, and also rethink where it came from. I would try to figure out where I went wrong and why I got it wrong. It seems like you just don’t care when reality contradicts your beliefs. Do you seriously watch this team at 20-9, 2nd in the west, and think Sengun isn’t playing well?
He is not the only one...we will win a championship with Sengun as our best player...and some people will still long for the French stick figure. Or Bruno Fernando.
I think the way to assess that is do you think Sengun should be a top 5 MVP candidate this year w/ the likes of Shai, Giannis, and Jokic? Was that the expectation? A top 3 defensive big with Sengun’s 2023 offensive efficiency on a 20-9 Western Conf contender would be just that. I don’t know what happened to it either other than I didn’t expect Sengun to be a top 5 MVP candidate so with the huge improvement in D the falloff has to come from somewhere. I hope he figures it out for for the stretch and the playoffs but I’m ok with him taking time to figure it out as long as his D doesn’t slip.
He probably tried to normalize his shot form, but it backfired and made him regress instead. Should've just stuck to the weird stuff he was doing before that was working. As they say, don't fix if if it ain't broken. Now he is stuck in his own head, second-guessing his natural instincts in favor of doing what he is doing now. Rookie season Sengun > 2024/25 Sengun offensively. If his offense doesn't return by the all-star break it's going to be concerning.
1. I don’t think he is making his move quick enough sometimes. 2. We need to do a little bit better job with motion around him, and I think he needs to be a little bit more willing to pass. 3. He is playing way harder on defense and on the defensive rebounding angles. I think he’s a little bit more tired than normal. He has been fine.
1. I don't see a whole lot of "Sengunian" posts anymore. You and Og's schtick going back and forth has much more volume. Most of us who are tired of it are not really Sengunians. We just hate to see those useless posts cluttering the board. 2. Why are you not doing the same to other player-only-fans who are as much obnoxious as the Sengunians. I've said it more than once. The "hate the fans but not the player" excuse is lame. Just be man enough and straight out say that you don't like Sengun therefore you love to mock his fans. Or come up with some decent argument to say why Sengun shouldn't be overrated like you think.
