China flexed and pulled every trick in the book to whitewash their part in covid and have the WHO and many other NGOs play along. We still don't have a consensus or a comprehensive origin story because without an origin, the CCP can't be blamed and held responsible for whatever they did.

I don't think the US should exit the WHO in the long term, but they should be held accountable for kowtowing to China if only because you don't bite the hand that feeds you.

China could take a larger role with the vacuum, but that means everyone else can't hide behind or play against US-China tension. They'll actually have to do something about the turd in the room.
