I'm like that. I can't imagine actually being in a situation where it is kill or be killed. I hope I never have to know that feeling. I've never felt a need or desire for a gun.
Only one in my life did I ever wish I had a gun, but I'm glad I didn't. A guy crashed his car in my driveway. I didn't realize that, I had just heard a loud noise. I opened my garage at 10:30pm to a man reaching out to my as I walked out the door. My daughter was asleep upstairs. The guy ended up getting a gun out of his truck and running when he found out my neighbor called the police. I felt so unsafe when he surprised me as I walked out.
I was an Air Traffic Controller, so I didn't carry around a gun. Most of my jobs were at different pilot training bases, except for my 3 overseas duty tours, which luckily weren't in combat zones. I didn't go in to fight in combat. I went in to train for and provide a support skill crucial to mission readiness.

After thinking about my own definitions, here's my criteria (and as I think about it further, I may revise these)... As self-defense or in the defense of a person/people who are being attacked by others who intend to kill, torture, rape, or sexually molest, or whose attack may result in a loss of life. OR Proactively targeting and killing a person/people who is/are targeting and intending to kill, torture, rape, or sexually molest others (especially peace-loving civilians). Unfortunately, this also includes an amount of caught-in-the crossfire civilian casualties. For example, if murderous terrorists are hiding in a hospital, their enemies are justified in storming the hospital. In doing so, the attackers should, to the best of their ability, target only the terrorists and try not to kill civilians. If civilians are unfortunately killed in such an attack, their blood is on the terrorists for hiding in a hospital like cowards and putting peaceful civilians in harms way. The goal of this is: by killing the terrorists you are preventing future mass murders. Such action should be celebrated only in the sense that future murders were prevented. Generally, we should not celebrate killing, even when it's killing terrorists - we should mourn that it was necessary.
Luigi Mangione's murder of Brian Thompson is despicable because Thompson never intended to kill anyone. If Luigi was mad because big insurance company denies claims, this was not the solution. Murdering the CEO will not stop future killings. Thompson was a peace-loving family man who just wanted to successfully run a company. Both are justified in the first clause of my definition. The prosecution did a terrible job. OJ should have been convicted and almost was. You really should stop drinking the leftist kool-aid. Elon hasn't threatened anyone with violence.

If you leave people no other option than violence, and everything is tilted against you, then violence is the solution. Blue Cross changing course on paying all the Anestisia was a direct result of the murder, when they just announced they would not pay for it if the surgery went longer, they are always looking for ways to **** the public and make more money. They shouldn't even exist there is no benefit to having a middleman between you and your care giver. The Rule of law is broken, the rich don't follow it, and when the poor or oppressed see that, they say **** it and start killing. Has happened throughtout history....and will continue to happen. As for Trump he is a despicable human who has screwed over and raped people his whole life, if he dies because someone is mad, I ain't crying over it. The world would be a far better place with Trump dead and buried.. As for me actually doing something it would have to be someone threatening me or my family......directly with no other recourse. DD
