Kawhi was a star player back then, I don't think other teams are idiots that they don't require physicals to check on his health and don't have their doctors check on him in case of any trades.

Any team has more informed guys than us fans that have already done background checks on him.

100% agree. She is doing her best to get her 15 minutes of fame. Reminds me of a female version of Lorenzo Ball’s dad. Feel bad for Eason (just like I do for all of Ball’s kids) that he has to deal with this.

Fair to a certain extent, most normal people use Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.... but they aren't used for the same thing or in the same way.

When it comes to the subset of normal people wanting to stay informed about things happening in the world via social media, Twitter is the platform of choice. The only platforms that even attempt to compete with them is Threads, Truth Social, Gab, and BlueSky.

Of those, Truth Social, Gab, and BlueSky are only used by a handful of fringe extremist weirdos and Threads isn't really used by anyone... but they inflate their numbers by linking Threads accounts to Instagram accounts... if you ever clicked the link on Instagram to try out Threads even once, they'll count you as an active monthly user on Threads even if you never go back to Threads and only use your Instagram account.

That's just a long winded way of saying that there is no real competition for the social media niche Twitter occupies.

 

Nah, it's nothing like that, she's just a very outspoken proud mama. She's not self promoting, she's protecting her kid in her mind.

 

I guess if the tumor was big enough, they had to put something into the tibia to stabilize it, like a tibia nail (metal rod). If not, they might be concerned about a potential stress fracture. It is concerning that this clearly hasn't been put to bed once and for all. I wish Tari the best.

Also, I think his mom is cool and awesome.

In her defense DuBose is probably the most grating, annoying and whiny dweeb that tweets about Houston sports. If that wanker said anything about my family I'd probably go off on him too.

 

One, I don't think I really understood what she said and two, her baby is probably in line for a $100mil extension, possibly $150+mil extension starting this offseason. I don't think for his sake or his mom's sake that he plays injured this year of all years. Let him rest and get healed. He has a long life ahead of him even after basketball. No need to destroy his body further now.

Also, for all the people who want to start him and give him 35mpg, this is basically why. This has been the case for him since LSU days. Let him be the spark plug off the bench in limited minutes, rather than force him to pace himself with starter minutes.

 

Forgive me, I know this is predictable and weak but I don't have a choice, it's like offering meth to a meth-head:

Nothing makes the Karens of the internet more upset than when people they disagree with get to express their opinion.... but it's also why having a place where people can express their opinion is so important.... though you'll have to put up with some dumb people saying dumb things sometimes as the trade off.

There are the fringe knock off sites for extremists who want ideological echo chambers so that the dumb people saying dumb things are dumb people that loosely all agree politically.

The back story, when Tari didn't play Thursday, there were some people who wondered (particularly in light of the team listing "injury management" as the injury designation) if it was planned. In other words, some thought that maybe the Rockets were strategically giving him that game off — one that happened to be at home and versus a bad opponent — to give him a "week off" or whatever, since it was a light scheduling week.

I was skeptical at the time but obviously couldn't prove it, so I just sorta shrugged my shoulders and said we'll see what happens over the weekend. But when he was held out a second straight game, it became obvious that it wasn't just a maintenance plan, and something new had come up. Later in the day, Ime Udoka confirmed that. That's all I was saying.

Hopefully it turns out well and it's just standard soreness as part of ramping back up post-surgery, I guess we'll see. But it's definitely worth monitoring. He's one of the best players on the team, and the injury is to the exact same body part that he had surgery on, and the one that cost him nearly all of last season. He's also eligible for a contract extension after the season. I'm not saying anyone should freak out, it could turn out to be largely harmless, but it's definitely worth keeping an eye on now that we know it wasn't planned.
