there’s something very wrong and very flawed with u as a player if you’ve only managed 4 total free throw attempts in 26 games 4 total free throw attempts in 303 minutes 4 total free throw attempts with 103 shot attempts
I think you know the answer to that one ..... you take Jalen and his $105m out of the starting lineup and his value instantly drops 10x worse than it already is. Offseason can't get here fast enough in that aspect - They can't continue to run with a starting guard tandem shooting ~.305 from 3 and .390 from the field. Its nuts that FVV is shooting just .006 better than Amen (.290) from 3. They - FVV & Green both need to go. But in the meantime, you have to keep up appearances ..... Jalen has to stay in the starting lineup. That's why I started warming up to the Fox for FVV idea, and Fox brings a lot of things this offense lacks despite the mediocre shooting - rim pressure and a midrange game is where he makes his money. This team has none of that .... one gone now, the other early in the offseason.
John Stockton was meh too for the first few years of his career. If only the Jazz gave up on him as quickly as Rockets “fans” gave up on Sheppard.
Sheppard's inability to handle pressure and run the Rocket's simplified, the-point-guard-has-one-pass-offense kills his chances of making a meaningful impact. That's rooted in his terrible habit of picking up his dribble when pressured. That leads to a layup drill almost every game. It's comically predictable at this point. Hopefully he'll figure it out. I also hope in the coming weeks Udoka will find 10-15 minutes for Cam (pending matchups). He can provide such a spark, and we're a team that needs the points he can produce.
He's learning the hardest position in the game at 19 y.o. Amen is in his 2nd year and still struggles with this. Look around the league. There aren't any PGs that come in and start commanding an offense on day 1. It takes time. Cade Cunningham is barely getting it in year 4. I prefer this way of bringing him along vs what we ended up doing with Green. Though Sheppard is a much better player fundamentally than Jalen. He's getting groomed to be better FVV essentially. People really need to relax. Cam is a much bigger concern at the moment.
Relaxation time is over. The more Teed plays the worse he looks. You can try to crap all over Jalen if you want but there was never this much concern about his play. Reed hasn't had one good game this season and you talking about relaxing.
Jalen was gifted 30+ minutes a game on a tanking team. This is an entirely different situation... Why am I even responding? You know this...
It's still too early to say that it's a mistake to pick him at #3. This draft class is even worse than anticipated. Literally nobody has shown any sign of a potential star. The real mistake is not picking Shead at 44.
At 41:00 Sam basically saying a Reed/Cam centered deal for Fox would out-do anything else that the rest of the league could offer. Says Jalen Green is basically worthless in that type of trade as he holds little trade value. Mentions that in league circles Reed is viewed as a high high level asset.
Reed will be fine. He is intelligent player which you can't teach. His basketball high IQ will lead to huge strides in year two.
He needs to go down to the g league for a bit.. We know he’s better than 1/6 from 3, but his confidence is obviously not there right now. Let him go down, be the man, hit his shots and come back. Cam was lost and getting 0 playing time, went down and worked on some things, and he’s back. He’s still Cam, flaws and all, but he looks much better than early in the season. Let Reed spend 5 games down there, then bring him back.
