I'm no hater of Alpi, but sometimes I want to scream at him for being so loose with the ball, particularly when defenders are physical with him. He must adapt and tighten up when refs are "letting them play".

His stat line reflected his play.

His first two turnovers were purely from horrible passes from his teammates.

The swing around to the Raptors bench though was a terrible one which even I was displeased with him about.

Fvv Stans will disagree. The numbers didn’t show in the box score, but he was doing things.

usually the Jabari lovers fav line of the night.

I'm a huge FVV critic, but must be fair. Outside of shooting like he had blindfolds on, he had a very solid game. The problem is 1/10 usually kills a team. Fortunately, Scottie Barnes at 2/15 was even worse. He completely sabotaged the Raptors.

Fred should not have gotten 38 mins. Amen was solid as a rock.

Rockets were up by 9 with 5:44 remaining when Fred came in for Amen (many of us groaned in this thread) and nearly blew the game. While I think too many people here cluelessly chop way too much on Udoka, that was a dumb move. Should have let Amen continue and they probably would have won by 15+.

Imagine if the Rockets hadn't extended Jalen in the off-season.

This team would likely be getting extended minutes from Amen and less minutes from Jalen since they wouldn't be forced to show case him to feel better about their horrid extension.

Blows the mind that one little tweak would make this team even better than what it is right now.

How is Amen only getting 23 minutes of playing time?

If they extended Alpi and not Jalen, it could have caused "chemistry" issues. It's also apparent they decided to give him one more year but made the contract very tradeable so they could move on from him if he failed.

I think nearly all of us know Jalen won't return next year. Just deal with the fact he's going to start until he's gone. It's not likely to cost a championship this year.

You’re an idiot. We lose big time tonight without Jalen.

He scored 20 points on 22 shots. I think we woulda been fine. If cam took 22 shots he probably has more than 20.

Look, I believe in the FVV "intangibles" about as much as anybody does. I think he's probably a great communicator and floor general, and I think he brings a lot more value with his defense than people realize. (I think dudes who are 6-foot in shoes are generally dismissed when they can actually be very effective.)

But he's got to hit his damn threes. If he's not doing that, he's effectively a zero as a scorer, a total nothing. You can't run a nothing scorer out there.

That's the line of thinking I thought most of us had last year. He'd be gone by this year's trading deadline.

    Not re-upped for $100,000,000 undeservedly.

And if giving someone who deserved an extension caused chemistry issues with a player who didn't warrant one, that should've told the organisation everything it needs to know.

There's not a single way it can be sliced that has ownership coming out positive with this Jalen extension, and the team is now suffering for it - even with their very good record.

I watched the game there was a stretch in 2nd quarter that Jalen played well. Outside of those few minutes he was his typical self.

Literally gets called for travel on a routine play in crunch time to let the game get way closer than it needed to be.
