Assuming Jake, Chas and Dubon are on the roster, defense-first OFs are not needed. Bats.

I mentioned him because the Astros offered him a contract. No affiliation. I run around in a baseball circle with about a dozen current and former Major league players (and organization guys). One mentioned at golf Thursday that Haggerty had an offer in hand from Houston and Arlington and was waiting on a third prior to deciding.

Verdugo is much more likely to be better offensively than all 3 of those guys.

Haggerty is a valuable piece given that he can take walks, steal bases and plays all over the place, crushes LHP for his career. So he's a switch-hitting version of Meyers, Dubon, and McCormick.

 

Doesn’t seem like he’s played enough to crush anything. 30 years old and by far the most games he has played is 80. Dubon replacement?
