Jabari is the better player and has been shooting over 40% the last 15 games from 3. He is one of the best PF rebounders and an excellent defensive player both on the perimeter and getting to be a really good weak side block threat. I love Tari and his energy is infectious. He might develop into an NBA starter at some point if his health allows, but right now he could make a great living as a perinial 6th man of the year candidate. Remember Hall of Famer Havlichek came off the bench his entire career. The Rockets are blessed with extremely talented very young players in the frontcourt. Just need to fix the backcourt to be contenders for a long time.
Exactly. Tari reminds me a lot of Pat Bev a lot of flash but sometimes the substance isnt there. People are so excited to see him on the court and then he starts turning the ball over, committing fouls etc Tari then starts ramping up, you get so excited at his possible stardom and then boom he has a concussion or leg growth or w/e. Jabari is like Dillon. His game is not flashy and he always gets crapped on but he is just consistent production every game.
Cam mentioned Ime don't give a shiit about offense. It explains why our offense is one of worst in the league.
And Jabari is 21. He will surpass Dillon for sure. I really think he has 20+ppg and 10+rebound a game talent with excellent defense.
the Rockets are 14th in offensive rating. Above average. People here are so damn negative all of the time.
I think most people are upset with our half-court offense. There are two main reasons that we are able to be 14th in scoring in the league. Our defense being no. 2 and leading to transition offfense and offensive rebounding. We have also benefitted from a relatively easy schedule and timely injuries to some of our opponents best players. Starting Dec. 29th through all of January we will have probably the most difficult stretch of games of anyone in the league. So we will see if being a great defensive team and a mediocre offensive team will sustain us to a playoff spot (i sincerely hope so). Playoffs have always been a half-court game. So we if we do manage to get there, our half-court offense will have to more efficient to stand any chance at all.
You said our offense was one of the worst in the league. It is above average in the league. We have the third best record and point differential in the league. You argue whether it will sustain, but you’re simply wrong to say it hasn’t been good or hasn’t been enough in the Western conference. It isn’t an opinion - it’s just an incorrect fact.
It is fools gold won't hold up in playoffs. We need better offense to win anything or to truly contend. DD
Collapse on Sengun and force Fred/Jalen to chuck a shot. They won't pass to Jabari so it's basically a turnover. Player/2p%/3p% Jabari : 44%/36% Dillon: 43%/39% Sengun: 48%/25% Jalen: 40%/32% FVV: 38%/30% Fred and Jalen average 31 shots a game.
Dillon is shooting above his average while Fred is shooting below. It's reasonable to expect that the two vets will come back to their career means. They aren't young players who are still developing. But Fred's shot volume should come down anyway. We've been saying this since last season. Jalen is just disappointing. His current average is actually quite close to his career norm. He needs to take a leap right about now... or yesterday. Jabari needs to shoot more. But this is a Cam thread. Has he grown up yet? Inquiring minds need to know.
Was really nice to see him active and not just chucking. The tools jumps off the screen, you don't have to be an expert to see what he is capable of when not playing like an idiot. Consistently play like a competent NBA team player first, then maybe we can work towards potential stardom.
Props to Cam. Against the Raptors, he played like a guy who could be learning there is more to helping a team win other than trying to shoot each and every time he touches the ball. I can't remember him ever grabbing two o-rebounds in one game before. More of this, please.
Missed the game, but I see Cam has the second best +/- at 13. Does that mean he's playing better defense?
I really think the Rockets could be unstoppable once they settle into a rotation that has Cam, Tari and Amen coming off of the bench.
