Fox can't throve in a system built around Sengun post ups

Isn't FVV also a klutch sports client. The possible overlap of Fox and VanVleet might put some friction.

Fox is good, but if you're the Kings, you're going to ask for the moon.

Man you would really give up all the assets for Fox? I think if you're gonna give up everything it needs to be someone way better than Fox. Fox doesn't change the fortunes of the rockets that much.

Fox already has a Sengun clone, he has shooting and he has an All -Star playing next to him, what makes anyone think Fox is the star we need?

Yeah, I’d give up a ton if we could keep Amen, Sengun, and Smith for fit. Those four fit like a glove, and Fox just turned 27.

He's about the same level player at fvv though except he can't shoot at all, outside of one fluke season. I just think he's a horrid fit and not nearly a good enough player to give up much of anything for, and once he gets a new deal he'll be a pretty substantial negative asset.

Fox is averaging 26+ ppg on a decent TS%. He’s a way, way more impactful player than FVV. That’s really all we’re missing — a guy who can score 25+ ppg efficiently and consistently.

I think he's proven beyond any shadow of a doubt he can't be a top 2 player on a good team (maybe unless your best was jokic), and he can't shoot. He would also hurt our defense compared to fvv. Yes it would be an upgrade (probably), but a minor one. Unless you can get a true star, patience is the most important thing. Look at a team like the pacers, i was making fun of my pacers fan friend when they got siakam, because he shut the door on them ever competing. Fox would do that for the rockets once he got his massive deal.

I'm beginning to warm up to the idea of Fox .... while he doesn't shoot well from 3 (still better than Jalen or FVV), he does from "everywhere else", and he gets to the rim & gets twice as many FT per game than FVV.

The other issue that has to be dealt with is the future of FVV - is he or is he not part of the future?
I think that's a fairly simple answer - No. Not with the decline we've seen from last year to this. You can't have that guy on your cap sheet eating up $45m. He's actually shooting worse than Jalen from literally everywhere - FT, 2 & 3.
It's a move that accelerates the timeline and because of that, I'm not giving up a bunch of young talent to make the deal - Amen, Tari, Jabari & Sengun are not available as compensation. Anyone else is available.

FVV for Fox the money works but its not enough compensation to Sac.

FVV, Cam & a draft pick or two seems about right to me tho it has to be done as two simultaneous trades to make the $$$ work and slide Cam into their TPE. Otherwise, the math breaks down.

    Two trades -

FVV & Rockets#1 this year for Fox.

    trade 2
    Cam & a 2nd rounder for a protected 2nd that isn't likely to convey.

Then in the offseason, when it's easier to do, move Green outa here for a 2 guard that can make shots and defend.

Wonder if New Orleans would give you Trey Murphy for Jalen and all his potential?

I would love Fox here. Yeah the shooting could be an issue, but at least we wouldn't be moving at snails pace anymore which FVV loves operating under.

Not gonna lie though, if he gets that All NBA selection a $345M/5 years is crazy lol. That's almost $70M a year. Damn. What is that, 35% of the cap?

Ya fox will be an awful contract, which aside from him not being close to good enough makes him as bad of a target as there exists for this specific team.

You realize we can cut FVV right? Why do we need to hamstring ourselves with a pg who cant shoot and has bad defense just cuz you hate moving slowly?

Our team already has trouble scoring all we can count on is our defense. You bring in Fox and we become a garbage team as opponents will attack him on defense. We lose our defense and our offense still sucks cuz nobody can shoot.

Heres an idea, wait till the offseason and offer Jalen and all the PHX picks for Booker. Booker is better than Fox, Jimmy Butler or any other overpaid star available on the market.

Better yet, the PHX pick might be a lottery pick thanks to the genius of Rafael Stone. Offer Jalen Green, the lotto pick, All the PHX picks, our own picks, Cam Whitmore and Reed Sheppard for Ant Edwards. Edwards has had it with the wolves, Naz Reed and Randle might not renew. Get Ant to pair with our guys and we good..

We have so many assets, so many pieces and you want to blow our proverbial load on Fox? Jimmy Butler? Lavine? Zion???

LOL WTF. We should get the best available not some overpaid players making the max. Dont be like the Wolves who gave up the farm for Glizzy Gobert or the Knicks who gave up 5 frp for Mikal Bridges.

    Mesh’ ok with Sabonis…

However, if the player doesn’t make specific demands if OKC wants a guy, Fox or Cam, as today’s breathless internet claims, their draft capital + surplus good, young talent means they can outbid anyone. Period.
