So many folks illegally stream NBA games. I don’t think using traditional TV metrics are all that useful,
While it is true, illegal streaming doesn't affect traditional TV ratings of other sports such as the NFL. That's because those sports are televised in broadcast networks. People don't have to pay to watch football games. The way to beat illegal streaming is to provide free legal streaming.
This guy is dumb. He's watching a bad team what exactly are you expecting them to look like? lol Yes they shoot too many 3's but Washington sucks bad example.
And why do they need too. I mean I have league pass but a lot of times I dont buy it because I still cant see my favorite team play eventhough I would drop like $200. They hide games on cable. Like who has TNT and ESPN anymore? This is why SIlver was pushing for Amazon prime which most people have.
Rockets are top 3 in the west and have no national games coming up even though games versus Miami, Dallas, Boston, the Lakers, and Memphis coming up. This league is stupid.
There are people barely at the games and rockets tv ratings aren't great either. Seriously why are people paying 200+ dollars not to be at the game. And don't say they are at that bar since there is not enough people there to account for all the people not in the seats.
Interesting how this thread dropped into the toilet after yesterday when the NBA put on 4/5 banger games on Christmas and had much bigger ratings than last year (with the NFL and a full Beyonce show on the other side) I mean I actually don't care about ratings - but I thought the basketball yesterday was great, I caught the 1st game, parts of the middle 2 and the end of the 4th (the 5th sucked at the ebd) and it had pretty much everything - close games, a huge Wemby game at MSG, Draymond green doing a double reverse DDT, old ass LeBron & Steph turning back the clock. etc. But don't let that stop a good discourse
People post highlights of Michael Jordan as evidence the game was so much better to watch back in the day. I lived through the 90s NBA, and it was not typically pretty to watch. I challenge anyone to watch a Timberwolves-Sixers game from 1993 and tell me the NBA was better to watch then. Hell, watch the 1994 NBA Finals and tell me how beautiful it is.
Corporate sales teams pay for lower bowl season tickets and only go if their clients are free. Can't say this is all of it but I know it happens quite a bit.

NHL ratings on new Year's Day hit all time low https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/20...ic-record-low-blackhawks-blues-new-years-eve/ Is it because the hockey is too woke combined with too many 3 point shots?
Every streaming services is taking too many woke 3s. You would think one of them would decide to pivot to exclusively reactionary ❄️ layup programming.
For once the Rockets aren’t the problem with the 3 point shot. Last night the Minn/Celtics game was freaking boring as hell. Nothing but 3’s. Yes great teams and great players but you don’t really get to see how great those players are if they are just taking 3’s. It’s a winning formula yes but it is just boring as hell to watch unless you are a diehard fan of those teams. Then there was the Sixers game which had one of the leagues premier big men who instead of posting up seemed to only be interested in creating from beyond 3, and every time he drove to the lane flopped onto the floor like a ton of bricks and whined about not getting the call he was going for. If I was Morey I’d find Embiid every time he fell on the court like an idiot. The guy literally is trying to get hurt and plays so weak for the biggest guy in the league overall. Embiid could have changed the NBA single handily but is a very weird guy who seems more interested in auditioning to be a stunt guy for Jackass 5.0 than he does actually using his size in the paint to dominate games and win titles.
