To me Amen is the future star of this team. Honestly if all we ever do is build around Amen, Sengun and Tari, we’re going to be competitive for years to come.

but I’m not sure Amen is a point guard. I think there’s a decent chance he could get there, but I don’t see him as the air apparent to Fred. For him to get there he really has to improve the handles and the shooting. I think he’s got the natural playmaking skills, court vision and IQ, but now a days point guards have to shoot well and take care of the ball, two thing Fred thrived at last yr and were huge factors in making the jump to 500. But for sure the positionless basketball is the new way, and traditional point guard skills aren’t as much of a litmus test as they used to be. I’d just say the verdict is out on Amen being a PG, but he’s one of the most versatile players I’ve ever seen in the nba. And I would like to see him more on the ball for more minutes.

not a half court point guard at this point
which a player has to be to be a championship point guard
has the talent and brains to become that...
    or a secondary playmaker

    remember
the celtics are the closest franchise to what we are building

Amen needs to be playing 30 mins a night. That he's not is criminal.

I get it, he brings nice energy off the bench, but how many times watching these games do you think "Man, can't wait until Amen comes in."

Yeah, why is that a thing lol? Statistically, he's literally our 2nd best player. How many teams have their 2nd best player coming off the bench?

I don't care who, Jalen or Brooks, he's better than both of them, it's going to be time to promote him to a starting role and give him more responsibilities. Everyone sees the potential and the guy shot has improved dramatically. It's improved a lot to the point I don't even get mad when he takes an open three. Also his finishing around the rim is nearly elite. He's coming along.

Like it's time. I'm kind of over Jalen right now, its clear he's not a Batman, he's not a Robin, and I'm not even sure he's a Butler. I hope I'm wrong of course but I'm just going on what I've seen tonight and this season.

Ime needs to play Amen over Green on nights like this, or even FVV.

Amen is one good shooting game away from passing FVV's 3-point %. FVV is only 7 for his last 40 on 3s. I think it's time to look at Reed again.

He seems to just keep getting better as the season continues.

It's time for him to start, and he should always be playing 30+ minutes barring foul trouble.

He's beginning to show more assertiveness too when he has the ball, which is good. It's one of the only things that's been concerning me a little--is he willing to force the issue and create his own shot at the expense of some efficiency? It seems so, as he gets more comfortable.

He’s becoming more comfortable and assertive - I think he’s most comfortable with ball on break / open court …. No one besides JG or FVV looks comfy bringing up the ball to setup the half court - I love Amen knows his spots and really only takes those shots (corner 3s and jumpers around the FT line area)

I am a little worried he’s getting some Tari in him on the break where he’s not passing to open man for easy layup and taking it himself

needs to continue working on FT shooting as well -we need him in 80s

There is absolutely no reason whatsever that Amen isn't regularly playing 35m a game. None.

Fred and Amen might be a much better backcourt fit right now rather than Fred and Jalen. Amen and Jalen is also probably much better than Fred and Jalen. Amen needs to get more minutes and get paired with them separately. Don't let Fred and Jalen play together for long minutes.

The Terror Twins should be kept together..

    FVV
    Amen
    Brooks
    Tari
    Sengun

Embrace the "No one makes shots. Even us." defensive mantra.

His defense has been excellent for a while now. I love Tari, but he is a permanent 6th man in my opinion. Jabari is going to be special.

Im not sure if Jabari will be special but he will be a high level starter for over 15 yrs. He reminds me of Al Horford. Crazy thing is he is also so young only 21 yrs old.
