That's not just a good example, it's a cherry-picked top 5 worst play he's made this year. I'm not saying CJ is blameless, but it's not a coincidence that his regression has coincided 1:1 with our interior OL being literally the worst in the league.
No, it's an example of something he has done multiple times every single game this season. He's done MUCH worse. There was a play a few games back where he randomly jumped to the left for absolutely no reason after taking the snap that DIRECTLY caused a sack. If he takes a normal drop back, it's a massive gain. He's screwing up A LOT this season. He's got the talent to be the best in the game, but his execution has been piss poor all season long.,...and his screw ups are typically blamed on the O line or the O coordinator.
The only real question left this season is if the Texans can avoid the early Saturday afternoon Wild Card spot. Does Vegas have odds?
I guess I'll need to see more examples of this, preferably from an all-22 angle. Stills images don't tell me anything. This play, I agree, he messed up. But I have a hard time buying that he just forgot how to play QB over the off-season. He's always tried for the bigger play, just last year those were there more often because teams didn't realize he had the arm he did and the offensive line was a lot more consistent. Those plays aren't there as often now and he has to adapt. But you're insinuating that "so many times" they have a quick option when he gets sacked and I doubt that claim's validity.
It's true that stills aren't the best at judging these things, but i took them from a video, at the point of the first video, the ball has to already be out to make the play. He missed the window and then he had nothing. I showed that if he threw on time, both inside guys would have been wide open for the first down. He does this kind of a lot, passing up the first window, hoping something else develops... so it's not scheme or play calling for the most part, it's Stroud simply not performing as he did his rookie season. Do take a look at the all 22,I think you'll see what I'm talking about more than you'll want to see it... that was the case for me anyway.
Well, the Texans have one thing going for them. Absolutely no one expects them to do anything in the playoffs. Use that
I really like this combo, when the unis first came out, I was all about the RED unis, but until you see them on the field it's hard to tell if you like them. I was in love with the H town unis but when they actually wore them, it was hard to read the numbers
Will Mahomes try that fake ass pretend to go out of bounds and squeeze out an extra 5 yards play vs this defense? LOL I hope that MF does. I guarantee they are bringing it up in their team meetings this week -- "DO NOT PLAY CHICKEN WITH THIS DEFENSE"
